Back? Good! The tokens are a way for us, the forum, to reward you guys who play trivia, contribute by your posts, and so on. The listed vendors have been generous to offer their goods free for those of you who manage to garner enough tokens by your efforts. It's another way to connect the many parts of our community. The first Trivia Token will be awarded tonight to the trivia winner. You can already see a list folks who have earned tokens by posting, as people earn more, we'll update the list.

We are always on the lookout for more ways to make your forum visits richer. Hope you enjoy.

I vote for the rocking for like a $hitload of tokens. He pays for a server just to share with us. He doesn't charge us. I have paid for sites that don't do as well as he does!!!!

Something I noticed...

One only gets credit for a post if they START the thread! Not just replying to someone elses post...

If you look at my latest post, http://www.ticklingforum.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=16202
I will show you what I mean.

My starting post is count 495...I responded to that starting post 4 times and still on my last post it says 495.
I looked at other peoples posts and they are ALL that way.
Looking at the same thread NJJen responded many times and her count never changes at all, it is always at 931.

Just letting you know.
Actually, I don't mind, it makes it even more worth it to get a token...

When you post the count goes up on every one..I surely did not start 1800 threads LOL. It changes the # on all of your posts whenever you reply.

I fell into the same trap half a year ago. Whenever you post something, the count goes up on ALL your posts.

We had count errors several times already, so I won't exclude that possibility completely, but just note down the original number of your posts beforehand, and compare it with the number afterwards. Also, you may look up all your previous posts, the number will always be the same... 😎

I also was duped by this way back in the early days of the TMF. Even shot off a letter to the mods reporting a problem with my posting status. Yet one of the thousands of times in my life I've felt quite the fool, lemme tell ya.

Every post a member makes counts toward getting a token. They don't have to be thread starting posts. And each time you post the post count changes on every one of your old posts. This gives the illusion that posts are not being counted. Trust us they are.

just a suggestion....why not make a token part of the tickletown giveaway? that way you're promoting both tickletown AND the TMF? the grand prize could either be an MTP video or 2 tokens....since it's equivalent..just thought i'd throw out the idea

Myr, an excellent idea, with but a single flaw! I DON'T HAVE ANY WAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! Ahem........

Now that my hysterical reaction is out of the way...seriously good idea to whoeveer thought it up and to those of you that implemented and backed it with your merchandise. I am suitably impressed and only have about 995 posts to go to make my first token. 🙁 I sure as hell have no chance of winning one on the trivia, because I'm in England the answer always arrives at Myr or Mimi's computer later than someone just down the road. (Well, that's my excuse anyway!😛 )

One question I would like to ask of you Mobnger, what could be judged to be a "suitable contribution"? Are you talking about posting stories or artwork? I'd definatley be interested in finding out what would be considered as suitable for earning a token. (Which is what they were designed to do, right? 😀)

As to what consitutes a special contribution... It's something that makes me and the mods sit up and take notice. Odds are it won't be a link or a single post, basically it will be a case of we'll know it when we see it 🙂
