Hi all. I hope no one minds me posting this in this sub-forum. It's pratically the only one I look in anymore. I suppose I can leave a couple of pics at the bottom of this post for posterity and proper-posting procedure (good- an alliteration).
For the majority of time since I first joined the TMF, I have been here posting and responding. After lurking for a little less than half a year, I joined on September 11th, 2001. I wanted to be able to talk with others about the experience. I have gone through periods of greater activity and periods of just sticking my head in here and posting, but I never really left. When I first began posting, it was difficult of me to conceive of just stopping by here once in a while and depositing a series of links, but that's what ended up happening to me. I know better than to say that I'm now leaving for good, and indeed, that's not the case. Actually, I may not be gone for very long at all (so much for dramatics, right?). But for the time being, I am not going to present new threads here.
Unfortunately, after several exhaustive searches of late, I have lost all the information I had yet to post. I had a wordfile with this information, which still exists on my computer, but is now blank. My computer got bogged down yesterday, and when I rebooted, all the information in this file was gone. It was if I cleared the entire document and then saved it. If anyone knows of a way of retrieving this information (I don't believe there is- I don't have any type of safeguard software that saves recent history), please tell me. I had an absolutely massive mainstream image post to spill (it included any number of brides, rxx, which I had never bothered to post- sorry). I also had another long laundry list of Japanese images to post. Add to this a sizealbe arsenal of Japanese clips which I never posted, anime images, f/m pics, celeb info., and you can see my dismay. It makes me feel like I have to just move on at this point. I saved a percentage of the images I had yet to post and could perhaps link them to webspace- something I've never done before.
At any rate, I really value the relationships I've formed here; it's a great place. Right from the beginning, people and moderators were very supportive when I was posting. I've been very fortunate to have been able to make a lasting friendship with another guy from this board for which I will always be eternally grateful. I first got on the internet about 6 months before I joined the TMF. So this Forum has been such a large part of my 'internet experience' and interaction with people online, that all I can say is 'thanx.' The perception that people will be jerks online, perhaps due to anonymity, is certainly well-founded. Yet this forum contains a minimal amount of that kind of behavior. And more to the point, I believe several members on this Forum recognize the propensity to 'lash out' online, and go the extra mile to be beyond civil. I can only imagine what great individuals people like Venray, Tkrexx, Toyou, Haltickling, and so many of you are from the way that you've conducted yourselves on this forum: never an even remotely hurtful or negative comment- it's an inspiration. I used to marvel at the way that Toyou would respond to negativity by always turning the other cheek. I try to live up to that ideal, but he's a better man than I.
Recently, I wasn't spending so much time on the Forum itself, but I was spending entirely too much time looking for material to post here. I've always used a dial-up connection but am deeply considering getting something faster. This might result in quicker searches and less time spent on them, but it could just as well lead to longer ones. So, for now, I'm going to take a break.
Some of you American folk (and perhaps people outside the U.S. as well) will be happy to know that I did find a couple of websites from which we can order some of the Japanese videos of which I posted material. When I locate the sites again, I will post them in this thread. I want to thank each and every one of you for your support and input. It's greatly appreciated. Also, thank you to the moderaters and to Myriads for making this place so worthwhile. Good luck to you all!
