(Greetings friends. I thought I'd take a break from such serious and dark fantasy and delve a little into poetry. I haven't in quite some time, but I was inspired. Sometimes things come along when you least expect them....)

Today it snowed and I thought of you.

In the reflective glints falling down
I saw the light in your soul.

In the layers that covered the ground
I saw the years to come grow deeper
And stronger.

In the freedom of the fall, the random flight;
I saw your spirit.

In the whip of the wind
I felt your eyes,
Burning into me through my many layers.

And in the welcome heat of the fire
I felt them again
Warming me from within.

In every flake I saw another mile between us,
But like them, the distance melts until
It is no more.

In the pristine white blanket that hugged the Earth
I saw your love

And in the purity of the moment
I felt alive, blessed and
Whole.

Today it snowed…

…and I thought of you.

(For Someone Very Special)

Nice Dave, very nice indeed, but please dont mention the "S" word any more...LOL

Dave,
That was beautiful. I'm sure your someone special appreciates it.

BTW, snow is that cold white stuff I've heard about right? 😉

just beautiful. touching in it’s quiet, reflective peace... and so moving in the feelings it expresses.

Beautiful poem, Dave! After reading it, I almost wish it snowed here in Southern California. (Today the temp was in the 80's.) 😀

That was indeed a beauty, Dave. Great imagery to apply to all the snow around me!

amk, I'm missin' California weather off and on, as it's been frozen here in Canada since October (coldest on record, ever, in this part o' the cold frozey). 80 degrees Fahrenheit sounds so hot!
