Western fans, what did you think of the 1993 Kurt Russel flick Tombstone compared to the 1994 Kevin Costner flick Wyatt Earp?

Have you seen both movies? Is one better than the other?

Saw them both several times. It's probably safe to say I've seen Tombstone 75 times. I can recite it. I liked Tombstone better personally... mostly because of the cast. Kilmer was great as Holiday, but according to history, Dennis Quaid was closer in appearance - very, very thin from his illness. They said Quaid lost something like 40 pounds for the role and he's not big to begin with.

Both are good. Tombstone is better.

Pretty much what nerrad said. The rental tape of Wyatt Earp screwed up on me towards the ending, causing me much teeth-gnashing anguish. But even had that not happened, I'd probably pick Tombstone.

Tombstone, without a doubt. Val Kilmer, without a doubt, is the quintessential Doc Holiday. "I'm your huckleberry . . . "
