So -- have you seen the pictures? There's a marine parasite related to the louse (read crabs) that gets ingested by a fish. The parasite eats the poor fishies tongue and implants itself at the back of the throat to feast on whatever gets eaten.

Giant isopods are stranger still.

Ah. Giant Isopods! One of my favorite bits of offbeat life on Earth!

First we have the giant isopod in its natural habitat and performing normal behavior. Floating around in the water looking shady.

Next, its favorite pastime, attacking fat guys.

Third, the giant isopod's favorite food is Nacho Cheese Doritos. They will fight one another and you to the death for a Big Grab of Nacho Cheese Doritos.

After that we have a giant isopod asleep. How can you tell? You can't. They have no eyelids and don't have lungs so they don't snore. You kinda just have to take it at face value that if they aren't attacking a fat guy or doing battle for Doritos, that they're asleep.

Finally, a yearbook photo of a giant isopod. They only need one, since they all look the same.
