Just got back from seeing "Transformers" and enjoyed the hell out of it. I took my two nephews - ages 12 and 7 - and they had a lot of fun too. The special effects are great (Industrial Light and Magic... you've done it again), and the action is just plain awesome (and we'd expect no less from a Michael Bay film). The plot is a little weak, but works for the most part. There are a few scenes that are somewhat awkward, but those are few and far between, and more than balanced out by both the action and some very comedic moments as well. I've liked Shia LeBeouf since he was on "Even Stevens" and if "Transformers" does what I think it could do at the box office, this movie could do for LeBeouf what "Independence Day" did for Will Smith. Only time will tell, of course...

So if you're looking for a "classic" summer movie - lots of action, some comedy, a little plot, and giant robots beating the transmission fluid out of each other - you might want to give "Transformers" a try.

Disclosure Notice: Hahathna is not a shill for DreamWorks, Steven Spielberg, Michael Bay or Hasbro. He actually enjoyed the film and is thinking of seeing it again, which is pretty amazing considering how cheap the bastiche is.

that movie was so freaking awsome lol. Its crazy how good that movie was, i'll go see it a million times i loved it:redface:

everyone should enjoy that movie

Probably the best movie that will come out this summer! Theres going to be a sequel that comes in 2009 and possibly a 3rd movie, btw my avatar is supposed to be ironhide ^_^

I swear, it was probably the best movie I've seen in months! I didnt think they'd make a movie this great out of that old series, but boy was i suprised. IT WAS AWSOME!

Well granted Micheal Bay isn't a great director, but it did a fairly good job directing this film, its probably one of the best films he's ever directed, and I think the takings for it at the box office show that.
I certainly found it enjoyable myself despite all the negative reviews I have heard from other people I know. It certainly had some incredible sprecial effects and CGI, probably the greatest thing about the film.

I really enjoyed the film as well, which totally surprised even me after reading up all the news bits I could on it, showing the new robot designs. A lot of them (Megatron, Bumblebee, Ratchet, et al.) looked rather strange in the still pictures I saw, so I wondered how that would translate into a movie.
It turns out, it translated pretty well!
I only had a few problems with it. First, I didn't care much for the camera work on some of the scenes. It seemed too shaky and too close up to tell what was going on. Case in point there, the Optimus vs Bonecrusher battle. I kept looking at the shots different ways, turning my head, looking at it straight, and sometimes I'd be hard pressed to tell who was winning.
Secondly, the film centered a bit too much on the humans for my taste, and not near enough on the Transformers themselves. I understand the need to show the human element of the movie, and their reactions, but the Transformers have often been compelling characters in their own right, and I wish we'd have had more of a chance to see that. They are the title characters after all.
There are a couple of other things I didn't like, but I won't go into them here so as not to spoil anything for people who haven't seen it. I will say that, for its flaws, it was an incredibly well done movie. It provided a great start to what will hopefully be a long series of films to come. We know there will be at least two more films.
Besides, this has to be the only movie I've been to where the whole audience applauded at the end, even me. It was that good.

I never got in the Transformers hype. I was to busy playing with my Ghostbusters toys. hehe. Im kind of curious to this film anyway. Do you think it's worth to have a look, even that Im not a Transformers fan?

I'd say so, even if you haven't seen an episode of transformers in your life you can still enjoy the movie.

I'd agree too. There are a few nods to the original series in the movie, but nothing that'll interfere with enjoying it even if you haven't seen it before. Actually, I've talked to a lot of people who've never seen an episode or owned a toy, and they all loved the movie, so I'd say definitely go see it.
