Now I'm by no means a psycho militia person, but I just got done with having my taxes prepared.

I'll put it this way.....the Feds put sand in the vaseline, and I don't think they are going to send me flowers.

Add that to my friggin' Federal Student Loan Payment, and I'm feeling a little grouchy with the greatest government in world history.

For what I paid in taxes, I'd better see some more terrorist-supporting countries getting bombed!!!! That or I should get to have beers with President Bush's daughters and niece and give them all pedicures!!!!

Ahhhhh, now I feel better!

I guess we can start off with the politicians and their own agendas.
They will happily throw scare tactics at people,saying that there will be cuts when they are actually only slowing the rate of growth.
Then we have the hospitals,those monuments to ineptitude,and their equally idiotic pals in the medical offices--I do have some stories to tell,but another time.Medicaid/medicare have been rife with fraud for years,but no one is interested in doing more than running their mouths about it as long as they can get more money from somewhere.To this end,it has been estimated that 90% of hospital bills have errors,
and unless you are interested enough to check your explanations of benefits and ask,some hospitals will happily tack on charges to your bill if they can get away with it.
This "guns vs bullets" argument has been going on for years,and will continue into the future.It's part of having a diverse society and a polarized government.It is also part of having a system where nobody cares to fix things until they are completely broken down,then the idea is another financial bailout rather than fix the problems.
The military has its own questionable financial dealings,many because
of the above mentioned politicians.While I want to see peoples' medical problems treated,I would also like to prevent some raghead from driving a truck of explosives into one of those before-mentioned hospitals.Like it or not,this is a problem that has been neglected for years,and will take years to remedy.Since ScotTickle mentioned it first,let's come up with a list of government expenditures that can be done away with to preserve both of these causes,as both are necessary to our way of life.

Protection Racket

That's what governments are. So long as you make your payments (taxes) on time, they won't burn your barn or thump you on the head (these days, confiscate the barn and put you to work making license plates.) An HONEST protection racket also prevents OTHERS from doing those things to you. Since 9/11, the USG has moved back into the honest category, and I, for one, am happy for it.
