Greetings all! Ok, so I moved to Pittsburgh...actually just outside Pittsburgh in a town called Monroeville. I'm walking through the mall and for some reason I keep saying to myself, "Why does this particular mall seems slightly familiar?"
THEN...I go into a collectibles store where there's a "Zombie Museum" in the back. Pretty nice one, too...full of actually movie props from various Romero films and the like. I start wondering why there so many zombie fan clubs, etc in this particular neck of the woods.
Turns out that the Monroeville Mall was THE mall they shot 1978's "Dawn of the Dead" in. Apparently this town is considered the Zombie Capital by hard-core fans of the genre. I'm in this mall twice a week, and it turns out it's part of horror-movie history.
Huh.
:cool
