The next 36 hours are going to be very wet in the NY area. The rain from Tropical Storm Andrea are forecast to hit the NYC metro area, and are supposed to dose us with two to four inches of rain.

We have a lull in otherwise interminable rains this weekend.

I've been listening to Philly radio station KYW. I hear there are flood warnings in the Philadelphia/Southern NJ areas. Please keep an eye on the weather and get ready to bug out if need be. (I still remember the intense flooding in upstate NY from Tropical Storms Irene and Lee in 2011).

All we received in Central Pennsylvania was a nice soaking rain.

According to reports, Central Park in NYC received 4.16 inches of rain from this storm. That is one of the worst rain totals I can remember.

As if NYC hasn't had enough rain the last few days. I just awakened to find out that we are supposed to receive another one to two inches of rain, Monday into Monday night, from, to quote the forecast, "A Steady, Soaking, Rain", as well as thunderstorms.

This is terrible news. I am concerned that all this rain won't lead to serious flooding.

More wet weather is expected later this week, as the forecast for Thursday and Thursday night, calls for "Heavy Rain" with one to two inches of rain expected.

This weather really is unreal.

I just woke up this morning to find out that the forecast has deteriorated greatly. Now, instead of just "heavy rain", the new forecast is for strong to severe thunderstorms for most of the day tomorrow, with several inches of rain expected. The heavy rain is supposed to linger into Friday.

Truly unreal.

The supposed forecast here today is just for "Heavy Rain", whatever that means. Given that there have already been severe thunderstorms this morning, from Lancaster, to Philadelphia, that are said to be moving east, it wouldn't surprise me if New York had severe storms as well.

Right now there is pelting, heavy, rain, and very strong winds. Hopefully this weather will get better soon.
