here are a few upcoming movies i reallyyyyyyy want to see....Spiderman, resident evil, Blade 2.
everytime i see the previews for spiderman it looks better and better. i wondered how tobey maguire was going to do..but he looks like an excelliant choice, especially since i believe one of the first people being condered for the role was freddie prince jr.😱

i don't know much about the resident evil game, but the movie looks pretty action filled. as for Blade i'm really looking forward to this one...the original Blade was probably the only movie i have seen several times and never got bored with. if it werent for the need for the serum, Blade would be the ultimate hero, he has all the strenth of a vampire and almost none of the weaknesses...anyhow i was wondering if their were any other movies that were worth seeing and it doesnt have to be science fiction. it can be any kind?

my brother and I are going to see Resident Evil on tuesday.

we were completely hooked on the game a few years ago. we had to see every ending (there were 3 or 4 different ones depending on how well you played) and we HAD to conquer the game as both characters. it's an excellent game. I hope the movie is even half as chilling.

we both loved Night of the Living Dead too... go figure. 🙂

March 29 "Death to Smoochy" with Robin Williams, Edward Norton.
April "The Scorpion King" with The Rock
E.T. is also coming out on March 22.

I went to Resident Evil web site, and it looks like whoever wrote the screen play, has never even played the game.

First of all, they didn't even call the special ops team S.T.A.R.S.

Then they changed the names of the characters. Instead of Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield, it's Janus Prospero and Spencer Parks.

Then they invent this evil super computer called the Red Queen which is supposedly the cause of all the problems.

I'm still gonna see the movie, but I'm not holding out much hope.

oh no! I haven't really looked into the movie or even seen a promo yet. my brother just told me about it the other day and I was psyched. we had a lot of fun playing that game.

an evil super computer? and they changed the name of the characters and the special team? wonder what they DID keep from the game? the game was so scary (it sounds funny calling a game scary... but it was!). remember those zombie things grabbing at your ankle (shiver) when you thought they were dead? plus I just loved the mystery of it. it wasn't all just 'duking it out'.

I'll have to go check out the site.

I definatly want to see "Death to Smoochy"! Anything Danny DeVito has a hand in is great in my book!
This weekend I am very much looking forward to "Time Machine" ( I think I got the title correct. IF only THAT (time travel) were possible!?

TTD

Time Machine

I saw "The Time Machine" this afternoon. Fx are great. I still like the 1960 version by George Pal better. That one went more along with the book, and gave a definition on the concept of time. But I'd still see this new one again.
The possibility of time traveling. That is another story.

Well

I am also looking forward to Resident Evil. 😎

Something no one has mentioned thus far in this thread is acting. Anyone who has played the Resident Evil games knows that they have the absolute worst acting ever heard. Lines such as: "Here's a lockpick. It might be handy if you, the 'Master of Unlocking,' take it with you!" are commonplace.

If the movie has acting that horrible, then this could turn out to be one of the biggest bombs in history!

i guess it may work in my favor not ever having played resident evil... especially if they changed alot of things...i think i'm going to see it tomarrow night. I totally forgot about The Time Machine. is it a remake of the old one..or does it have a new premise? as for the robin williams movie...i've never cared much for his movies except one...."What Dreams May Come" ...in my opinion one of the best movies i've ever seen. if you hav'nt seen it, i highly recommend it. I guess it would fall under the catogory of fantasy.

This is scary..You are one of the very few who agree with me on
...."What Dreams May Come" ...

Ya know it was odd....i did'nt think it was going to be that good..then after i finished watching it..i could'nt believe how well writen and acted it was. i was pleasantly surprised.

Hmmm, thanks for the recommendation. I've been toying with renting it or not since the day it came out on video, since the subject matter seemed so interesting...but never did. Well now you've sold me 😀

What Dreams May Come

I hated that movie. The only thing I liked was the wife's laughter. It was so rich and full of life.
"The Time Machine" is a new premise. Instead of it being in London it is in New York.

i think i missed my calling..."movie spokeperson" 😀

i can see all the commissions coming in now.

i think you will be glad you watched it Oblesklk. its just one of those movies that kinda clicked with me.

Thanks for the info on the Time Machine Ovda. I may have to go see it then.

star wars ep 2 (I hope it is good), SPIDERMAN, and i must admit the kids i used to watch got me hooked on it, THE POWERPUFF GIRLS MOVIE. Future movies i am looking forward to are Batman Beyond with clint eastwood as the elder batman being produced by the guys who do all the animated series. and Batman Year one directed by teh guy who directed requiem for a dream. I know that superman reborn is still in production, but now word as to who is superman. I hope they do what donner knew what to do for the first one. the producers wanted robert redford and donner came on and said we need to find an unknown. chris reeve was a fluke. but they need to do that with him and the new batman too. and i hope the producing rights run out with Peters and Guber (who produced and trashed batman 1 from it's original screenplay) and give it back to donner. they wanted nicholas cage as superman for crying out loud. and i read the script and it is terrible. they need to give it back to donner. he did it right the first time. they also have the guy who did THE PERFECT STORM doing a batman meets superman movie. sounds good but he is thinking of casting david duchovney as superman and someone worse as batman. otehr than that, that is what i am looking forward too.

2002 looks to be a banner year for films. Star Wars, Spiderman, Resident Evil, Lord of the Rings (Two Towers), Blade II...and a host of others.

I just hope that the trend of decent indie films continues.
