The reference to China was made by someone else in this thread.
There's really not much sense in arguing with me over it.
Actually, he was replying to me about the reference I had made to China in my original post, where I was saying that I had gotten used to the restriction upon national symbols. I do believe that it is possible to think that the Chinese may have the right perspective on the issue without necessarily submitting oneself to the communist rule, like other democratic European states have done. The USA are more the exception than the rule in that respect, and while I agree in principle with freedom of speech (I often clash with my wife on that, along with the issue of capital punishment), I understand that no freedom can be truly absolute.
