No...it does look like it in the trailer but upon watching the movie, it's something else (can't remember what though! This was a topic on the forum at the time of the film's release).

Vanilla Sky, Vanilla Scene

Vanilla Sky is a trippy movie that toggles between dream sequence and reality. In the above mentioned scene, Cameron Diaz, (who may or may not be the girlfriend from hell) is laughing at Tom Cruise in a dream sequence, sort of the old, "snap out of it, it was all an illusion" kind of derisive laugh.

I don't know. I give up. Trying to explain Vanilla Sky to a sane person is like trying to explain God to a goldfish. The movie is literally, all over the place.

Just so you know, there IS a slight tickling scene in the foreign film it's based on (I'm not sure, it may be Argentinian). He thinks he's lying in bed with (what he thinks is) the Penelope Cruz character and he's caressing her arm (I think...maybe it's her side) and she flinches and says it tickles...then he realizes it's the character that Cameron Diaz plays in the American version. Very slight.....as slight as the little scene in the original Solaris (for those of you who have seen it...it's really nothing much if you haven't!).
