Tickling mention in National Geographic

The November issue of National Geographic has a large article on human skin. In the article there was breif mention of tickling and what it is. The article is not available online but I will quote it here.

"<I>The nerve endings in skin can only sense three types of preceptions: pressure, pain, and heat. Light stimulation of pressure nerves is what causes tickling. Light stimulation of pain nerves is what causes Itching.</I>"

The book <A HREF=http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/026206216X/qid=1035558517/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/002-6615798-9989645?v=glance><I>Touch</I>, by Tiffany Field<A> was sited as a referance source for writing the article.

Novus, I get National Geographic every month, but I didn't know about the tickling mention. Guess I'll have to read it more often! 😀

P.S. Does anyone else think that $25/week (see the first link about Shelby the Ticklish Witch) is rather steep for a tickling comic? 😕
