Vellicatrices: Unlimited Contest!!!

Hi folks,

As I had stated in an earlier post FTKL and I are holding a contest. This will be a "Design a Victim" contest. You can either send us a description or a quick sketch to:

The entry that we feel is the most interesting will be used in an upcoming issue of VU as the "victim of the day". The winner will also get an original piece of art through the mail of your character getting worked over by the VU regular of your choice pencilled and inked by FTKL and hand colored by me.

Contest rules: The winning character will be used by the VU crew for that current issue only and will not be recurring. In return for this use the winner will recieve the free sketch. No other payment will be made. (hey, we have to cover our butts here). 😀 Character must be a female and must be in a full costume. We won't consider a nude or partially nude design. All entries must be made by e-mail by the end of September.

I just wanted to know if there are any other restrictions besides it has to be female and fully dressed cous i just saw MIB 2 (cool mov btw)and got the idea of doing an alien type.So does it have to be human or can we draw other things like furries for ecxample??.

Hi Skull,

Although I'm planning on a Sci Fi issue in the up-comming Julie McGee Adventures in Time series, we haven't planned on using any aliens in the current series. Both Maxi series will be related, but I think sticking in an Alien in the current run of VU would be a little out of place. We'll be running a contest on the McGee book when it gets going so save the design.

Great idea for a contest, BZ! I will definitely start thinking of a character. I am already the proud owner of several FTKL originals, so the chance at another one is too good to pass up.

Feel free to send more than one. Remember, this is a background character so we don't really need to have the characters history. We've had some interesting suggestions so far so everyone keep them coming.

That's fine 😀 A lot of people are having fun with the histories. For our use since it isn't a "speaking" role we're more interested in the visual.

The main point is have fun.

lol. actually yea, she's sort of a Jen Yu clone from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Same basic Chinese Sword Goddess concept, although my sketch didn't really do her justice.

That is of course if we pick her. 😀 We have a lot of good entries so far.

The winning design will be announced here on the TMF sometime during the first week of October once we've contacted the winner.
