Video Card Not Supported...

This is not a problem with the forum per se, but I know there technically advanced peeps on this board, so I need to axe a quesshun...

I bought "Condemned: Criminal Origins", but it won't play, saying that my video card is not supported. Does that mean I have a lame VC and have to buy a new one?

Which ones are better to buy: NVidia or ATI?

They're both pretty equal. It's basically like comparing Pepsi and Coke.

It all depends on how much speed or resolution you're looking for. Both are reliable, though.

video card not supported does mean you need a new video card if you want to play that game. Somewhere on their website, they probably have a list of compatible cards that are known to work with it.

On a personal note: I don't like ATI, myself. I had one and I had nothing but trouble with it. Other people I talked to on the net were also not too impressed. I guess it depends on what you use it for.

The big ATI claim is that they have a cadre of people in the background who do nothing but make drivers for it to be upgraded on a regular basis, whereas NVIDIA only puts out a new driver every few years.

Quite honestly, the so-called consistently upgraded ATI drivers that I tangled with made everything worse. One thing was improved but about twenty went glitchy.

I will stick with NVIDIA. Even though I haven't upgraded the drivers since I got my new card two years ago, I have never had any problems.

I like NVidia myself. Never had any problems with their cards. 😀 😀 😛
