Hey, if this is a repost, I appologize. Does anyone know how to convert files, like making somthing that is a .RAR file or something like that into an MPEG file? Much appreciated if anyone could help, cause the files arn't being very cool to me right now.

A .rar file is an archive, containing other files. You just need to get the free version of WinRAR to unpack the contents.

(BTW, this should probably be in the Technical Assistance forum... 😛)

ha, yeah good point, I'll repost there. Thanks for the words of advice, though I already tried WinRar. Its like a RealPlayer file, but I'm trying to convert it so it will work easyer.

Do you mean .ram? That's a metafile format used by RealPlayer. They're not supposed to contain any data, just a link to the real file, which should have a .rm extension. Unfortunately .rm files often end up as .ram when saved, not sure why that is.

Are you able to view the file at the moment? What would you like to convert it to?

A mod should be able to move this thread for you, rather than multiposting.

yeah, I already set a different post, oh well. Aye, the .ram file is what I meant to say. I can barely see it, skips, freezes, etc. Its not the file, it my computer, so I wanted to change it to MPEG, so that it could be seen easyer.

Perhaps your RealPlayer installation is broken. In particular I've seen clips be jerky if they're played with an older version of the player when they're encoded with a more modern codec. Which version are you using?

I assume we're not talking about streaming clips off the web here, you actually have these files saved to your hard drive?
