Hello, everyone. I'm popping back in to report on the progress made on the World's First Tickling Video Game.

No new screenshots, unfortunately; all coding work has been "under the hood" so to speak, focusing on game startup, running, and maintenance. (the chat parser, command line, et cetera.)

there've been a few new dialogs created, but they're kinda sloppy. All of 'em are, in fact, but I will overhaul this and re-organize them properly for the Final.

I've gotten the startup routine in place, which means that although the game doesn't actually DO anything when you select "Start Game", it still initializes and begins running. This is important.

Also, the "Create a Contestant" dialog is fully-functional, which means you can customize your appearance and save it as a contestant profile, which you can then use within the game. The profile save creates a disk file.

In addition, I've negotiated with two, possibly four(!) new models. Two have agreed to be shot, and will do so in June, the other two, I'm still hashing out the details over. One has postponed. So we may have my target five. Who knows.

When I have something to show, I'll post an update on the web site. But for now, rest assured that I haven't given up already! 😀

Sounds awesome Phineas.
Very curious to see how your project turns out!
Thanks for the update, I was wondering. 🙂

Sweet 🙂 If any game was destined to be addictive, this would be it for us!

An update on the update

The results of this afternoon's coding are in, and the following has been implemented:

"Game" object, which so far controls the drawing of the background and some other settings-related functionality. A screen shot has been taken, and will be posted on the site tonight of the game showing one of its' (temporary) backgrounds. w00 w00

CView: the "Contestant Animation Viewer" utility, which will aid me greatly in testing the players' animation routines. No actual loading or playing of the animations yet, as there aren't any, but the interface to select and play a particular series of frames is in place.

Now, off to the local mall to see if the Clone Campaigns is in. More later.
