Looking through my art book (Anatomy for the Artist) I found this little bit of information:
Also, only 10% of humans have a longer second toe. Now, whether that's necessarily a good thing or not, I think all depends on said person's point of view.
But, man did the Chinese take beauty to an extreme! (Though not dissimilar to anything we Westerners did back then, in our ambition for ultimate beauty) They had Chinese foot binding, where the shape and proportions of the foot were manipulated, and hopefully, stunted, as the growing feet were slowly crushed into the idealistic pied.
