I've been bouncing around the various discussion forums lately and though I admit I never searched for one, I has yet to see a single Walking Dead thread pop-up. Basically I'm just curious how many of ya are out there be it the comics or the series and just for fun name your favorite character. Personally I'm relatively new to the comics, but thus far I like Tyreese a lot and I'm torn between Merle and Michonne on the series.

I'm a fan! Andrea is much more awesome in the comic; just saying.

So many people tell me I should check it out. Still considering it - it sounds pretty neat.

I agree. Even though I like Laurie Holden (thought she was great in Silent Hill and The Mist), I don't like why they used her for a role that should have been given to somebody in, i think, their mid-twenties, but thats only a minor beef. My biggest one, is it seems like Andrea is becomming something of the villiage bike, and I know that might be a premature statement, but it feels that way. I also, and i could be wrong here, but felt an almost lesbian sort of click between Andrea and Michonni (or however you spell her name). I mean, i could have totally read it wrong, but something just seemed...a little too intimate at times. Maybe it was just like a "Bromance", except the girl version?

I love The Walking Dead. Read the comics and watch the show every Sunday. Only thing I haven't done is play the video game, which I hear is excellent. And yeah Andrea is much better in the comic than the show.

Yeah, she is kind of a floozy. She's becoming a lot more competent, but she's still got poor judgment skills--at least as far as who she chooses to associate with. It would make more sense to have a younger person in the role.

meh... I caught the first season on Netflix and was really impressed at the realistic take... but after that, it became soap-opera formulaic ad nauseam to me. Very easy to un-glue from that string-along, drama-llama, goat rodeo.

Rooting for the undead at this point. I'll even throw in some Tums.

I absolutely agree. I just think amc has a knack for villainizing some of the major female characters of their series i.e. Betty draper, or skyler white. Andrea is way better in the comics and doesn't come off as so naive, but I also was intrigued about to what extent her and michonne's relationship went.

I really need to get my hands on the comics. I've been loving the show but want to see what all was added and what was left out.

I want to know if this show has an ending, or will it just fizzle out and get cancelled when people lose interest?

It's great, the first season was great, but it's getting kind of ridiculous for me...as Devin of BadassDigest said, it's become "grim porn."
Okay, the world sucks after a zombie apocalypse....jeez!

I've also got hooked on Game of Thrones, which I find far superior, mainly because it's more engaging, the characters are less soap opera like,
and I can see possible endings.

well, the comic book series hasn't ended yet, so if they continue to follow (loosely) the comic, then it'll keep going until it doesn't draw any more fans, or the comic comes to an end.

If Devin from BadassDigest thinks the show is grim, he should read the comic sometime. Now thats grim. Then,it's supposed to be grim. The main focus of the series is to look at what happens to the characters as the world around them comes crashing down. Sadly, the show isn't, IMHO, as good as the comic in showing that. To be honest, by contrast, the show is fairly light-hearted, and that is it's weakest point. But, unfortionatly, they have to pull their punches to make it on TV, not to mention worry about budgets and such.

At any rate, the show is still entertaining, and some of the twists they've shot out that differ from the comic have surprised me a little, so I shall continue to watch and enjoy.

Firefuardian, the comic is great, and if you like the show, I highly recomend the comic.

I like Laurie Holden as well. Didn't even realize she was in The Mist. I know her as the beautiful and intelligent Marita Covarrubius, the Special Representative to the Secretary General; as well as friend and confident to Agent Fox Mulder of The X-Files. I have to admit, I lost a lot of respect for her when she balled Kryczek.

Yup. Interesting sidenote, the actor who plays "Dale" and Sophia's mother (I can't remember her name), also played parts in the movie The Mist.

It's going to be interesting to see how these last three episodes play out.
