That's a real discovery! I was able to join a whole lot of small clips and make decent size videos from them. Thanks for the pointer!!

That's a good program, but shareware (only free during a month, i think).
I know many programs like this one, all shareware (including the new version AVI/MPEG/RM/WMV Joiner v4.81). What i usually do is trying each of these every month and uninstall them one by one when the end of trying period comes ;-)
If you are interrested, i can post some links to get these shareware programs.

One word of caution. While it is really great to have the big files, I have noticed that the sound is somewhat altered in many of the clips, with interuptions, etc. so I would not use the "delete sourse" option on valuable clips, but save them until you are happy with the result.

A free alternative to those programs is windows movie maker... i've used it to both join and edit mpeg and wmv files.Windows movie maker comes packaged with windows xp. For .rm files you can use Real producer basic... again a free program... just do a google search for it. I hope this has been of some help 😀

I use Windows Movie Maker to edit Windows format clips all the time, with pretty good results if I select a higher quality setting.
