Wanting

wanting leaves you
nothing but wanting
unquenchable longing
the feeling's exhausting

forgetting the tangible
for the seemingly possible
holding tight the imaginable
disregarding the actual

leaving you restless
for what can't be obtained
brazenly reckless
and so unrestrained

I'm feeling unmanageable
I won't be consoled
the want's taken hold
and I can't be controlled

the want's in my soul
it owns me so boldly
its fire won't go
it burns me so wholly

it burns me so sweetly
that I crave the blaze
left wanting the want
in the rawest of ways

the want leaves me wanting
with nothing to do
but stay deeply immersed
in my wanting of you

Loved this so much Myth 😉. Should really be a song. It gave me a sudden flashback to something I wrote a longlonglong time ago and I even went to the extent of pulling out my old poetry books to find it. So this is for you. Hope you like it... 🙂

Taste. Lips. Noses touch...
travels the tingle
d o w n the spine,
slipping to the toes.
Desire to have
YOU
by my side
caressing carefully
everything away.
Want all those
forbidden
things
I'm not allowed
to dream about.
You bring your
body in
IN for the kill
striking down
upon
my weaknesses

Aww thanks Myth. I'm so glad you liked it!! You've inspired me to post more poems here. Knowing there's another poet here, and an awesome one at that, to share with is encouraging and exciting. Hope you post more too. 😉

... and eventually (aka when I finally sit my butt down and finish it) I'll post a story up too. Marquis keeps bugging me about it so at least I've got someone on my ass. 😀

Very nice, very raw, very honest. You somehow managed to fit so many uncontrollable, uncatchable emotions in the constraints of words and still have it be powerful and have a certain poetic rhythm to it. To me it sounded like he rat-tat-tat-tat of a machine gun. I probably read it differently than intended but that's the mark of powerful writing. You're able to connect to the what the piece says no mater whose voice you say the words in because the overrall feel of the piece is universal.

Excellent work. Thanks to you, Sound Siren and a few others, this little sub-forum may have found its heart beat.
