I think more people here will collect clips by downloading them with eMule, like I do, but sometimes I got a clip that made my computer go crazy.
Here are 2 clips that you should not download or play:

(kamasutra) 35 G-spot Tickling Angela.mpeg

Just selecting this clip to try to play it or move it to another locations caused my computer to stop all activity. Nothing worked anymore, so I had to restart my computer.
Remedy: Select it together with several files and throw them in the thrash can. Put the other files back from the thrash can to their old folders and empty the thrash can.

Cheerleader tickled.mov

No clip is played. Loads, if connected to the internet, an enormous amount of commercial windows from a porn site to your computer, quicker than you can close them.
Remedy: Immediately shut down all internet activity. Close every window that have popped up and close the quicktime player. Then you should be able to restore internet activity.

If you know more clips that are dangerous to download, please add them to this thread.

Run everything you download through your antivirus program!

Hey Red, got a sort off topic question about eMule. I'm just downloading mp3's with it. I can usually find the obscure, X-treme, European metal that I like there ...the searches are very fast, but connecting and downloading take f**king forever! What gives with that? Admittedly I'm no genius with some of these uber techie file sharing programs, but is there some tweaking I need to do to speed things up?

ty in advance.

To nessonite: there were no virusses involved.

To Storm_Cat: The trick for faster download is uploading. Uploading more gives you credits so you will come higher on the cue list. Don't remove popular downloads from your incoming folder, but leave them there, so you collect credits. Visit also the eMule website and look at the FAQ for how it all works. I agree that some files seem to download never and other download immediately. Choose a file with as much sources as possible. I downloaded a movie of 1.5 Gb in 48 hours because there were more than 100 sources.

Red, thanks for the heads-up! What you got hit with was adware/spyware, which is seldom detected by conventional antivirus programs. The site www.vitalsecurity.org has regular and detailed coverage of adware being hidden in p2p files and is interesting reading.

I strongly recommend that anyone who uses file-sharing programs use the free blockfile from http://www.spywareguide.com/blockfile.php -- this will protect IE against several hundred spyware and adware variants. I also recommend running a reputable anti-spyware program such as Microsoft Antispy, Spybot S&D, AdAware, or Disspy (see this thread for more information).

Thank you for this post, Val. You are always savvy in this arena, and the information you provide is very helpful.
