I've known several people who admit to have had strange beliefs as children. Here are some of mine:
Dogs and cats were actually the same animal. Dogs were the males and cats were the females.
I knew that "The Key to the City" was an award that someone received when they were well liked. What I thought was that everyone liked you so well, that they'd given you a pass key to open every door and visit every home in the city.
If someone were to kill a snake, the other snakes in the area would band together and bite the person to death. To escape this fate, the individual needed to travel 100 miles away. Ninety-nine point nine miles was not enough.
The final one, to be honest, I'm not sure how much I believed. A boy in my first grade class told me about a dead end road. He told me that it was a road that if someone traveled to the end, the person died. I don't think I believed that, but on the same token, I wasn't rushing to the end of any dead end roads.
