What Black Friday specials did you get your hands on?

I didn't go Black Friday shopping, but I'm curious what kinds of deals people got.

My boyfriend's sister works at best buy, and she told us when she left the store on WEDNESDAY that there were 5 people lined up in hopes to get the tv special ( a 42 in 1080p tv for $199). A deal, but worth giving up your Thanksgiving?

I stayed home so I didn't get shot with pepper spray or bullets.

Worst trouble I ran into was a lack of organization and some people whining about the lines. I dunno what goes on where you guys live, but Black Friday only has a reputation for people getting hurt because it's also a ridiculously slow news day. The national media has nothing else to do, so they all cover Black Friday shopping, so all the lunacy that happens in retail normally but isn't normally covered by CNN and Fox is plastered all over the news at a national level. Crazy people shop 365 days a year, the only thing that's different today is that they line up for it.

nota thing that is just plain insanity and so not worth it

Well, I camped out Wednesday night for Black Friday and it was well worth it. I got this awesome 5 subject notebook with a box of pencils for only $359.00!

Well, I went to H-E-B (the big grocery store chain in Texas). Picked up two rotisserie chicken quarters and some peach cobbler from the deli plus a 2012 calander, the current issue of Texas Monthly and a twelve pack of beer. Set me back $21 and change, and I didn't have to camp out all night in the parking lot.

Now back when you were a kid in the 1850's there were no grocery stores right...just trading posts? I bet you could have gotten all that you listed above for about 2 cents 😉....

On a serious note, the store I work at was NUTS. We opened at 3AM and were open until 10:30 PM last night. Anyway our store usually makes between $2000-$2500 dollars a day (it is a small city and even tinier mall 😉 )...but yesterday we made $69,000...it took my manager about 2 hours to close out the registers @_@!

The funny thing is, half of the deals they had listed in the paper or whatever weren't even in stock.

And by 'not in stock', I mean they lied to get more customers. Well, the stores around here, anyways. It made me laugh.

I stayed home, however, I am online today to shop for CyberMonday deals. It's alot safer than going to those stores with all those people running around like their hair is on fire.
