what cute things do your pets do?

i'll start. my kittie, named chelsea, does three things that i find so cute.
first of all she comes at me on alll fours like across the bed or from the top of the steps, with her back arched, even her eyes are arched, and hops on all fours in a threatening manner towards me. just like a halloween cat, plus she is all black

the second thing she does is, she thinks she is hiding from me by being at the top of the steps, down on all fours, crouching, and lays her ears flat as a pancake thinking i cant see her.

the third thing, while david is shaving, she sits on the counter top and he turns on the faucet with a small stream, and she places her paws in the sink, and sticks her head under the stream. so much for cats being afraid of water. she is polydactyl, meaning she has six claws on both her front paws, which might account for her love of getting in water since i heard they like it, plus her claws are webbed all but the thumb.

Our cat, benji, likes to do some odd things now and then too. The first pic is of him on the perch I made for him in the front window.

The second image below shows the balcony over our livingroom. I used to have a small table set up at the end of it for his food. That didn't last long. He decided that he liked jumping from the balcony and landing between us on the couch, which is right under the wreath in the picture.

He also enjoys spazzing out now and then (generally in the evening) and tearing up and down the stairs. Often Drew will hide around the corner of the stairwell and jump at him as he reaches the bottom. This often leads to him stopping dead in his tracks and jumping backwards on all fours...all in the same second.

We also picked him up a new toy when we were up in Portland this past summer. It's the only toy we've ever gotten him that he plays with. It's a long flexible plastic tubing with a cluster of feathers on a cord at one end. He loves when we drag it along the edge of the couch and will curl around the edge, pushing with his hind legs as he grabs it with his front paws.

Probably the cutest though is when we have the christmas tree set up. I always have to put the cheaper non-breakable ornaments on the bottom. He likes to play with them as well as ripping the candy canes off and batting them around the room.

how cute, and wow i forgot about the christmas tree. we didnt put one up last year for several reasons, one being that chelsea was a kitten then and extremely versatile and rotten. i imagined the burglar alarm going off every night when she would knock down the tree so we didnt put one up. but we will this year, and it will be interesting to see how she reacts. our other cats never bothered the tree, but chelsea is her own cat and does so many things our others didnt. like we have to stop the mail when we go away, otherwise she would have chewed our bills to bits, our mail comes thru a mailslot. and she started an interest in the toilet, which our others didnt do either, in fact while a really small kitten she fell in lol she likes to drink from it, hence we have to keep the toilet lid down.

In a word, everything. I love my babies and every little detail of each ones personality that makes them unique. I love my big fat old man kitty Earnhardt, who we rescued from a semi abusive home as a baby, because he's a big cocky crabass who grunts and hisses and gripes at everyone, yet loves to be cradled in my arms and held like a big baby. He'll slap me if I stop petting him before HE'S done being petted. I love my second oldest, inbred, slightly retarded big fat white cotton ball kitty named Rusty, because he just loves everyone and everything and he can not stand to be in a different room from me. He has a foot stool right next to my computer desk that he sleeps on everytime I am on the computer, he follows me to the bathroom, he sleeps in my lap everytime I am watching tv in the living room, he follows me to the kitchen, and he sleeps on my head everynight in bed. He's the biggest mommas boy in existance. I love the middle kitty, our bengal tabby Wimmer, cause he's such a big cuddly lovey dovey baby who loves to sleep on peoples feet. He also has the greenest eyes in the world...like emeralds. I love our two baby girls, Reeses and Autumn. Reeses, our tiny little tortie, because she was reincarnated from ancient Egypt (well, SHE thinks so anyway), and she struts around the house waiting to be pampered and worshipped like the princess she is. She has this whole attitude where she spralls out in your lap, crosses her front paws, tips her nose in the air, and looks at you through slit eyes in a way that says "You may pet me now, servant." Autumn, our little calico, because she's the naughtiest, sassiest little poop you've ever met. She gets into EVERYTHING, and will do things she knows she's not supposed to do RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU and will not stop until you're up and chasing after her. She knows she's not allowed in the closets, but the minute the closet door opens, BOOM she's there trying to get in it. And if you stop her, she squawks and hollars and yells and slaps you and growls. She is SO SASSY and I LOVE it. Despite her small size, she is the dominant cat in the house and harasses all the others equally. But when she's in a lovey mood she's the biggest cuddliest little baby. I could just kiss her up. Well, I do. All of em, much to their dismay! LOL

Here are some of my favorite pics....

1. All 3 of the boys sleeping together on the couch. They are so cute when they are all cuddled together and sleeping peacefully... 🙂

2. My big fat sassy Earnhardt, sprawled out on the floor like a harpooned whale....his favorite way to sleep, always in the middle of the floor in the way of everything and everyone.

3. Big fat mommas boy Rusty, and our little sassy snot Autumn sleeping together on my recliner. How the hell Autumn does not suffocate is beyond me!

4. Autumn watching me on the computer, biding her time between attacking the mouse cursor and stepping on the the keyboard keys.

5. Reeses insisting on being held in the crook of my arm while I'm trying to get some work done on the computer. It's the royalty in her, I guess.. 😉

My cat beats up the other cats that I pet, so I cant pet anyone but her.

She'll peek around the stairway when Im downstairs and out of sight, looking for me. If Im in sight, she'll sit on the landing and yowl for me. If Im not home she sits in the window looking for me.

She'll hang over the edge of the bed, and pull her food dish closer (she refuses to share a bowl with the other cats in the house), then when the dish is in reach, she'll bat the food onto the bed so she dosent have to get up to eat.

She loves Burger King but hates McDonalds

SHe has a certain post on the bed, and if its covered, she'll swat em until she can lay down.

If I wake up and try to go back to sleep, she'll get up and poke me. If I dont get up after she pokes me, she'll claw me.

She wont eat anything that isnt crunchy.

I kind of envisioned the same thing. A screw in the corner to tether the top of the tree worked nicely. Now, if he gets too rambunxious, he can still shake the tree a bit. But, he can't pull it over.

yes thanks ann i thought of that also. should work for that rotten kittie of mine. but dang it we let her get away with murder, because we have mellowed thru the years. and when she sleeps with us at night, which i never let the others do, heck the bed is king size but she either crowds up to hubby or me awwww she wuvs us lol

Benji tries to push both of us off the bed at the same time. He's generally good about just lining up against me so that he doesn't bother Drew. But, if he hasn't gotten enough attention, like if we've been away, he'll lay sideways and push us both. The little shit! lol

My chocolate lab will give you a high five if you hold your hand in the "high five position" right in front of her face, she will reacha paw up and give you five! It's a pretty good one to show guests. Be like "Yeah, my dog will give you a high five!"

My dog does a few things that make her... my dog

1) When she is hungry or thirsty, she will tap her paw on her bowl

2) When you are eating at the table, she will put her head on your lap so you won't fprget about her.

3) She will sit on the couch like a person.

4) When I get my wallet and my keys she follows me in anticipation of a car ride

5) She loves bagels and won't let you put the bag down until you give her one

I love my pet! He's such a cutie! He's very obedient and tends to mind me well enough. He's been known to stray which gets him in trouble once in a blue moon, but he's a dear, and he never goes too far. He knows nearly every command I give and tends to react better to body motions than verbal commands. Sit, Beg, roll over, Speak, Down. You know...the standards.

He's getting old, but I'm ok with that as you can't very well drop them when they earned a place in your heart. He's got bown hair and the most darling deep eyes and big ears. He can get a bit fiesty, but if I keep the leash snug on him, he's pretty easy to lead. Sometimes you can teach and old dog new tricks.

And you know how they kick their feet when you tickle their tummies! He's so sweet.

I'm not crazy about the way he goes on and on about airplanes, but at least he's gotten over that whole football issue. Red Indian is just about the best pet I've ever had!

Oh.....wait. You didn't mean THAT kind of pet did you?

Omg!

Ok, so I have a (semi) new poopy (puppy.) He's 8 months old, a choc lab. Sweet as sugar and huge (you were right Knox!)
Those of you with kids know how when it's too quiet, you get nervous? Well I had that feeling and wandered out into front room. What do I see? Poopy standing tall on the pool table and biting baby Jack (our kitty, 1 year old) on the head! Thank God they're pals!
Poopy gives me this look like "What Mama?"
I told him, "better get down from there, if Daddy catches you, you're dead meat!" He did but it was so funny!

Lucy, our Black labrador femme. Has a tendancy of slamming into her little dog house so fast it falls over, she also thinks that shes supposed to be in the waterbucket WHILE she drinks the water.


Tucker, our little Border collie dog, chases and herds everything that moves and doesn't move. This includes: Lawn furniture, bugs, rocks, raindrops, balls, other humans, other dogs, the hose, the stock tank, the trees, flowers and the poop scoop.

And our really old dog named Gracie goes under my mothers bed and barks. o.o at absolutely nothing.
