Fun movies like the ones from the 70's and 80's.. Things like:

Meatballs
Caddyshack
Stripes
Animal House
History if the World part 1
Back to the Future
Original 3 Star Wars



these were fun movies, no one makes movies for fun anymore. It is all about the Art, the Technology ( like that crappy 3-D ) or the the almighty dollar ( actors getting 20 mil a pic but cops and firemen cant get a decent wage )

I am not saying all of movies are like this but they dont seen to make just enjoyable fun type comedy's anymore.
A;so some try to remake them like Footloose and it is just not the same.

Just wondering what anyone else thought

In Sequelwood, I mean Hollywood, it costs SO much to put a studio flick in da can (or in the file, I guess today) that is probably true. Most of the comedies I have seen lately had all the funny scenes in the trailer, and seem to make Porky's seem like the Marx Brothers at their peak. Has the writing declined, are actors/actresses more about cinema or their $$ per film than entertainment, I don't know? I go to the movies to get out of the house and see my friend, but am more entertained by movies like you mentioned above.

There are no good "fun" movies left, they're all gone. Now everybody thinks "The Hangover", "Jackass" and "Bridesmaids" are fun movies.

And with Leslie Nielsen passing away last year, there'll never be another fun movie made ever again.
