What if Star Wars Episode 1 was really good

This guy did an awesome job of taking the available assets, so to speak, and turning them into a really great idea for a movie.

I can't figure out what he has in mind by having the Emporer mistake his force sense about Anaking for one about Obi-Wan though.

His ideas were a hell of a lot better than what the movie ended up as. I like the idea of making it Obi-Wan's story. I think that may have been far more compelling.

You know...give that guy a pair of thick back hipster glasses and he'd kinda look like a young Lucas himself.

And yeah, that was actually a much better idea for the story.

For some reason I'm reminded of the part in the documentary The People vs George Lucas during the segment on Episode 1 with the one guy saying "everyone remembers that moment when they realized 'no...it's not growing on me'. And that was a *bummer* dude."

It so was.

My single improvement:

You know what was missing from the prequels? Sex appeal. There was no Han Solo/ Harrison Ford character to balance out the Jedi asexuality. Anakin Skywalker should have been introduced as a cocky young teenaged pilot (just like Obi Wan said he was in A New Hope); he should have been the handsome, reckless bad-boy, and then the trilogy would have been a tragic mirror of the original, where the Princess falls in love with her smuggler dream-beau, only to see it all fall apart. The fact that Anakin was older would have been important, since he would always have been more 'street'; not a Jedi so much as a force-using badass. Obi Wan would have been trying, and failing, to bring him over to the light, but eventually the rift between them have would become too much for their friendship to overcome. Fix that, and you fix the character problem at the centre of the prequels; everything else would start clicking.
