Sometimes the sudden attention is good. I was depressed when I came here, intending to lurk--look at me now.

Of course, most of the time it just scares them off🙁 Not much we can do about it except plead that some of the lesser-gentlemen....be more gentlemanly😛

I get that, and any lady who shows up here shouldn't be made to feel like she just entered a den of out-of-control animals. But I'm also making the point that nobody - male or female - comes into a tk community announcing that they're a lee unless they want to attract every interested ler in the place. Then there are the teases. 🙄 Check out the jargon thread. 😉

I'm willing to bet most of the women who register here are shocked enough that there's an entire community devoted to what they've secretly loved for their entire lives, and intend to ease themselves into things, gradually becoming more comfortable with themselves, their tastes and the other people on this forum before diving into things more deeply. And then, of course, they get swamped.

I'm willing to bet most of the women who register here are shocked enough that there's an entire community devoted to what they've secretly loved for their entire lives, and intend to ease themselves into things, gradually becoming more comfortable with themselves, their tastes and the other people on this forum before diving into things more deeply. And then, of course, they get swamped.

My point is, the thing to do is to remain noncommital in the preference box because who can't figure out in a New York second that this place is crawling with lers? Then if some creepy ler rubs her the wrong way, she can just tell him she's also a ler, or a lesbian, or just not into creeps. Whatever. Then when she finally gets the attention of an interesting ler, they can take the conversation private. This is how chicks deal with creeps in real life, why should this place be any different?

Yes, that's the way it's dealt with--but that doesn't mean that's the way it should be. In a perfect world, women wouldn't have to lie to keep out the riffraff, and they'd have access to safe spaces in which they'd feel free to express themselves in whatever manner they choose without fear of harrassment. If they encountered a bit of scum, they'd have a word with the manager and her aggressors would be thrown out on their asses. Not a perfect world, I know... but something to work towards.

Seriously, women on here get swamped...the only reason I still post after the initial harassment I received when I first came on this site is the fact that, after I let everyone know I have a Ler and that she's my fiance/female, folks eased up. It's true--women get POUNCED on as soon as they post anything...whether they want the attention or not...

So, if you're upset about that fact, you've got a lot of male TT members to go have some serious, life altering conversations with...

Hrmm, this thread seems to be taking the direction that it is the guys fault that there are very few active women on the forum. I'm not inclined to agree. There is a balance to these things and before you go saying that there would be more females here if they didn't get swamped by overzealous men I think there are other things to take into consideration.

1. Women are pretty adept at communicating with men. They do it in all aspects of their life.

2. If there was an active large population of women on TT the swamping factor would be less.

There's a ton of truth to that. Asserting up-front that one will not tolerate anti-social behavior might cut down on the incidence of same.

I agree with Camel and Chameleon - women do really get inundated with PMs and posts and e-mails as soon as they post or show any sign of being active. It's fucking insane, it really is. I've seen it with my own eyes how lurid and disrespectful some members can be. There are other reasons women don't post, I'm sure, but I really do think this is the main one.

Ps - I think a poll would be handy for this. Asking why there are less female posters than male could bring up some answers. Such answers could be "Because there are less females than males" or "Because women get harrassed" or "Because women are less into tickling than men". Oh it'd be fun to see the replies! Guess what, when people send an email or pm to a gal, that's what is exactly going on. Maybe not in the most polite manner or maybe not in a manner that the woman would prefer, but they are expressing interest. My point is: if women don't want to be swamped, they need to do something from the get go to let people know that.

As for being polite, you might reread your reply to me and decide if you are being polite.

PS. The problem doesn't seem to be the expression of interest, it's that there are so many people doing it.

I'm a girl and I don't got thát many pm's. Of course I get them, but I don't really mind. I'm here to chat and meet people and exchange experiences.

I didn't get any 'let's have sex' pm's. In a pm there is a kind of chemistry or not. If there is not the pm's will stop. If there is, there is a nice conversation. I think most women are afraid of the 'you're a women, so let's have sex while I'll tickle you'-pm. But in reality, it's not that hard.
And fase it when woman tickle each other it looks very normal. So she don't have to go on the internet. When two 'males'(boy or man, it doesn't mather) tickle each other like crazy every time, it is a bit weird. Big boys don't do that, alas 😉
Or maybe there are women but they just don't tell they are. And women aren't that much on the internet/computer as man.
