With winter weather upon us in the North East, and I know other places as well.

Current Temp in NYC is 34 degrees F, with wind chill of 25.

Wanted to ask..

What type of weather do forum members prefer?

For those members who do live in a "Four Seasons Climate" like myself.

Do you prefer.. 30 degrees F, with low wind chills, as is often the case in winter?

or.

90 Degrees F, with high humidity of mid summer.. as is in July or August?

In the Northern Hemisphere seasons. I know that South America/Australia, and New Zealand, etc is reversed, and your summer is December to
March, and Winter is June to September.

I've always been mixed about this subject.

I don't like 90 degrees F, because the humidity and heat wears down the body.

Not to mention the increased Air Conditioning bills, even if one tries to conserve on AC.

Yet.. the freezing cold.. with cold temps, and biting wind chills, is very uncomfortable as well.

Thoughts on this?

I hate extreme cold weather :shivering: more than extreme hot weather.

I prefer the warm/high temps & low humidity of the southwest.

I agree, it only happens here during the summer months though & usually the humidity is high. Speaking of that, it just reminded me, I've got a hockey game at 6pm lol

I don't mind cold weather, I actually prefer it to hot weather. Being from the Midwest, heat and humidity go hand in hand. I run warm as well, and live by the moniker: if you are cold you can always put another layer on. If you are hot, you can only take so much off until you are arrested for indecent exposure!

i hate winter and would love it to be warm all the time arrrr

I grew up in the Midwest. If I never see another snowflake again, I will be a happy man. It does snow here, but rarely, and seldom more than an inch, if that. The last time was six years ago, and most of it melted by mid-morning. It was 65 degrees here today, and the current temperature is 59 degrees. If I must endure winter, I can live with that.

I LOVE cold weather. Down where I live, the weather is practically made up this time of year goin from 78 just the other day, to a bone-chilling 26 degrees in a matter of about 2 days. That said, I love colder weather, I'll complain all day about it but I much prefer it over hot, humid, barely breathable summers.

I'd rather it be too cold than too hot. If it's too cold I can at least wear layers and blanket up where as if it's too hot I just have to sit there sweating.

I come from OH, near the snow belt, so I am used to 4 seasons. I still prefer it to be a bit cooler, but I am used to warmer weather now that I have lived in TX the last 8 years.

Very hot or very cold. I honestly prefer neither. I'm comfortable when the temperature is in the high 70's. 😀

i'd prefer it little cold vs hot high 60s low 70s are good

It is supposed to be no more than 25 degrees F on Thursday and Friday this week, for high temps, with high winds. After that, we are supposed to have a snow/ice storm over the weekend. The two most.. brutal aspects of our winter, in a few days time

Mild. Spring/Autumn. I hate it if it goes over 68 degrees. i'll take the cold any day over humid heat. You can put on layers and prepare for cold, I almost find it fun, like putting on battle gear. But there's no escape from humidity and heat, I feel disgusting and grimy. (also, I love wearing jackets with lots of pockets, which you can't do when it's hot)

But just high temperatures, without the humidity, isn't so bad. I was in Utah and did a big long hike in over 100 degree heat, and I was fine. So I have to put the humidity caveat in there. And in the city, when you have putrid bags of garbage on the street, and dirt and grime from bus exhaust sticking to you.....ugh.......

Live in 4 seasons Pittsburgh. I would move to warm Texas or Arizona in a heartbeat. I love warm weather.

i love Pittsburgh, and almost moved there a couple of years ago, actually, I think it's a beautiful, very cool city.

Don't get me wrong. I love Pittsburgh. There is a lot going on here for a city of its size. I just hate the cold weather.

Subzero with at least a foot of puffy snow.
Mosquitoes like my blood and I burn easily so tend to hide from the scorching.
3/12 summers I had to work outside so tend to have to ease my skin into that pattern.
Fond memories of snow forts from lake-effect snow before I moved shortly before JR HS.
XIX Winter Olympics ski-jumping was quite the experience for a vacation after the move.

Current Temp in NYC is 18 degrees, with a wind chill of 4 degrees.

This is a little too cold for me.

Yesterday was brutally cold, and today is supposed to be almost as bad, except not as windy.

After an ice and rain storm this weekend, next week is supposed to be highs in the 40s. That will feel good compared to the last two days.

Record temperatures for the Midwestern regional towns. Wouldn't surprise me if many more rural regional towns broke records. Wind chill might of been colder yesterday morning especially for my portion of the High Plains.

I've been thinking about this a lot lately too. and As for myself, I hate when it's to hot [like, 80 and above] because I am bad to get hot rashes [I always keep a thing of lotion on hand].

but, On the other hand, I hate when it is so cold that you need to keep a heater [wood, electric, gas, whatever] on all day, for the same reason.

I guess, I feel more at home in the "mid" temps, 40-60

We topped out at 32 today but with the wind chill its felt like the mid-teens. :shivering:
