There's a Valentine's Day dance tonight

This has now been cancelled for the general good of The People. The People's Commissar in his infinite wisdom has looked closely at the evidence (some of which may or may not be scientific) and has decided that attending such an event would lead to both mirth and merriment, neither of which aid in the building of a strong economy or a healthy nuclear weapons programme. A "Super-Work Dance" has instead been arranged for The People, which will be run like any ordinary working shift except that those who collapse will merely be kicked in the face as opposed to shot. The ceremony crowning the "Sweetheart Queen" will still go ahead, however once crowned the winner will subsequently be dragged outside and hung for being a bourgeoise aristocratic enemy of democracy and freedom. That is all.

For me...got cards for the wife and kids....Flowers (bouquet of red carnations) for my wife...muliple pink/lavender/white carnations for my daughter. And, when she gets to work, tonight. my wife will find her pajama-gram waiting for her...
