What's gotten boring in videos for you?

Hi there,

I've been reading quite a bit lately about who and what folks want to see in a tk video. My question is, what are you tired of seeing? What bondage equipment or positions, costumes, techniques, etc, are starting to make you yawn instead of pulling your chair closer to the screen?

And yes, to those who have been emailing me, I do plan to start up my little company again this year. So this is actually a useful question for me, thanks!

My hubby has a lot of foot tickling videos, since he's a foot man. Feet aren't a big deal for me. But, I'll watch with him. I'm sure this is different for those who are really into feet. But, staying in the same place, even if you change techniques is something that I find boring very quikly. I much prefer it when the tickler jumps around and lends some variety to things. I also prefer for the ler to be vocal and teasing.

I know others will have opposing views and that's cool. But, that's what I think.

My $.02 Cents...

Gotten boring...

1. The popular market assumption that ALL males prefer F/F gender based tickling (and I realize that THIS ONE is a personal "pet peeve" and that NOT ALL other forum members will agree with Me, the quintessential M/F tickling fan.)

2. Half-hearted or uninspired responses from the ticklees (when it becomes all too obvious that the ticklee just "showed up for the paycheck.").

3. Bondage that is TOO non-restrictive (hard to buy into the ticklees' pleas for mercy when you KNOW she is tied so loosely she could, and often does, steal away from the tickles AT WILL!).

4. PERPETUALLY silent ticklees during their "torture."

5. Editing out when a ticklee uses a "safeword" (I think it teaches ticklephiles to be more respectful of limits to see the system in practical application).

6. Using the same props, or tools, on a set too many times in a row. To his credit, a well-known producer to this forum had FINALLY done away with use of a futon that, if it could talk, I believe would tell a "tickle saga" of adventures that ran clear from Massachusetts to Nevada in the lens of the same video camera EVERY MONTH, until about a year or so ago. There are still SOME producers who have not taken that lesson from their customer base yet though. They, of course, shall remain nameless.<smile>

I feel, in the interest of complying with the "Golden Rule," I should now briefly present the plot summary for My IDEAL video fantasy captured on film, lest this commentary not be editorial.

I long to see a video producer release a tickling video with a light D/s twist to the plot. It would star a male tickler and a ticklees who have a love/hate relationship with tickling. The ticklee would actually be nearly "agonizingly" ticklish, yet love to be subjected to it, in spite of her loathing for it. Yet, everytime she committed an "infraction" in their dialog about their ongoing relationship, she would be "required" to ask for her own "punishment" (in the form of tickling, of course) whereby she would first put her shod feet across his lap and/or set bondage gear on his lap as he sat on a couch/chair and offer her limbs, one at at time, to be fitted with fetters, which would be used as bondage anchor points for the forthcoming tickling action.

I could be fairly flexible on the rest of the details, so long as the first five of My six "boring" items list were not "violated." 😉

The thing I find most boring is.................

........ticklers who may be very good at finding spots on the ticklees, but tickle very slowly and gently. Now I'm not talking about brutal tickling that bruises, but slow and almost yawn inducing tickling that just illicits small giggles. This sort of tickling does have it's place, but not in the whole video. The TIB for instance is someone who doesn't batter his victim into oblivion, but is relentless and quick and never lets up. Jeff of MTP is one of the greatest stars in the tickling firmament and I love watching his videos, but if there was one VERY SMALL critiscism I could send his way, it'd be that he's a tad too merciful.
Before anyone leaps on my head for saying that, I have to say that every other aspect of Magic Touch is stellar, from his variety of positions and the standard of his tickle models,to the inventiveness he shows and the HUGE contribution he makes to the TMF, by using his buck to maintain it. MTP is the best company out there, (did I dig myself out of this hole yet guys?) and this is the only thing I ever thought of that detracts from it.
If there is one thing I do love, it is utter relentlesness in the tickle-torture. (This is just one man's opinion of course)

2) Overabundance of F/F

3) Overabundance of consensuality (at least within the plot premise)

4) Lack of D/S settings and devices (GAGS, blindfolds, creative restraint, and the overall feel of D/S or BDSM setting)

5) Lack of good dialog.


Curiously enough, I don't include non-ticklish models in this list, simply becuase the few producers that I do buy videos from are known for using ticklish models. The others I stay away from.

I'm a big fan of gentle, erotic tickling. Torture by carress. If I'm watching tickling I prefer to see F/F anyday or even better FFFFFFF/F or FFFFF/FFFFF 😉 Nudity is preferable although if not nude or topless at least be wearing sleeveless tops/bikini or whatever and not clothing that covers all skin. It's all about the BUILD UP if you ask me...take any movie...like The Matrix for instance...what made it so good was the BUILD UP with the agents...to the final encounter with the agent...Morpheus tells Neo that anyone who has stood their ground and faught an agent has died and then that other d00d who betrays the group says "If you see an agent...you do what we all do...you run...you run your ass off!"...then Morpheus who kicked Neo's ass fights an agent and gets HIS ass kicked...all the time building up and building up to when finally Neo himself is left to fight an agent...and we're all on the edge of our seats...and Trinity says "Run Neo...Run..." and he DOESN'T and the whole build up reaches such an intense climax! It's the same with tickling videos...take that one clip "Don't Laugh"...it starts off with one girl sitting on a couch and 2 other girls...one of them says "She's not gonna last!" and they begin to very gently carress her feet...the expression on the girl who's being tickled face when one of the girls starts gently tickling her thigh is excellent...and allas all we get to see at the end is one of the ticklers saying "Would you mind taking off your top?"...I mean come on guys...don't you REALLY wanna see what happens next in that video???? Even though no one seems to know where it's from! 🙁 )...it's all about the build up I tell you...much better than just rushing in to hard tickling!

I agree with BigJim. The thing that really irritates me is the "phantom tickle," which Don, especially, employs ad nauseum. That is, wiggling the fingers over the ticklee for a good 30 seconds or more without making contact. Also, the slow, almost apologetic way he tickles. Don't want to make this a "bash Don as a tickler" post, so let me just say that I object to these techniques no matter who employs them. 😎

What makes me bored in tickle vids? Most of it is covered by one word: Pretense.

Pretense that fluffy feathers can produce tortured laughter.
Pretense that feathers are continuing to tickle over long periods.
Pretense of tickling as non-consensual (hey, it might turn out to be more than they can take, but they all know they're getting tickled!).
Pretense of ticklishness if there isn't any.
Pretense of being the only tickle vid producer worth that title (one of them has this statement on each tape)

I'm not so fond of m/f tickling, but if the action is good, I like that as well. Personally I prefer f/f, ff/f or multiple-f/f, and I like to see several models in one vid. I want the tables to be turned. The torture fantasy works for me if the tickling is really good, but I'd prefer more tickle fights (between roomies, for example), especially in partial bondage (hands free to tickle, but feet or upper body fixated).

I'd love to see more erotic tickling. All my stories revolve about the ticklee getting to orgasm, it's my favorite fantasy (and memory!). My favorite would be semi-pornographic, a mixture of tickling with lesbian sex. No one offers this. Market too small, I guess.

Watching male ticklees turns me off, no matter if the tickler is male or female. I like f/m in real life, if the ticklee is me, but not other men on videos. Many of my stories include f/m or ff/m tickling though. In my fantasy, a male ticklee is ALWAYS me.

I realize that my taste is not part of the majority. No video producer would sell many videos specializing on my personal preferences, but I DO compromise. There are a lot of good vids out there, and they never fail to make the room temperature rise considerably… 😉

SuperTickler you hit the nail on the head. "Apologetic" is just the right word, wish I'd though of it. Also the "Phantom Tickle" is another good point. One of the best reasons that MJP is as sucessful as it is, is because of the super ticklishness of it's models. The two best that I've seen being Farra and Pheonix. These two were soooo sensitive that a slight breeze could tickle them. Now imagine the reaction of them at the tender ministrations of the TIB or Prisscilla James and you've got a phenomenon on your hands!
I hope Jeff reads this thread because it's not intended to be anything except constructional. If we could see some seriously torturous tickling in an MTP video then watch me spend the savings intended for my pension on them!

I know we all have our likes and dislikes, but for me, there has to be some kind of dialogue between tickled and ticklee. the teasing and begging really make it, and let me know that they are AT LEAST trying to interact and not just be on camera together. f/f is still cool, but the quality of interaction and real ticklishness much more important.

1) Lack of a plot. I know it sounds silly but I like a good plot in my tickle videos nothing complicated but something that really sets the mood for why the tickler whats to tickle the ticklee until they are hysterical. Spy interrogations, sorority initiations, amazon women, psychotic podiatrists, stuff like that.

2) Lack of dialogue. I want to hear tons of tickle taunts. I am tired of videos where virtually the only dialogue is the ticklee laughing.

3) Lay off with the tickle tools. I am not a big fan of tickle tools. Especially ones that I know that don't tickle that much like feather dusters. Give me those wiggly fingers any day and if its a woman tickler make sure those nails are long and sharp.

4) Don't ease up on the ticklee. I see this a lot where the tickler is like barely touching the ticklee, especially on the feet where a firmer touch is usually needed. Dig in, especially on those tootsies. I want to see those toes wiggle back and forth uncontrollably.

5) Poor bondage. Tie up the ticklee good and tight. Be inventive with the bondage too.

Anyway just my two cents.

These are more peeves than yawners.
(1) The same two or three lame "plots" over and over again. If you have to have a plot, use a good one. There are plenty to choose from in the Stories Forum.
(2) Blabbermouth ticklers. If I want to hear witty repartee, I can watch Comedy Channel for the cost of my monthly cable bill.
(3) Unticklish models and ticklers who suck. This is less a problem than it used to be since companies like MTP and Femfeet have been around.
(4) Too much teasing and/or going easy on the 'lee.
(5) Too much bondage stuff. If I had wanted a bondage video, I would have bought one.
(6) Gags on ticklees. They're an invention of the Devil. I want to hear laughter!
(7) I like f/f scenarios with reversals best. M/f is OK. I won't buy a video with any type of /m in it.

hmmm.... i think I'll weigh in here. (The following are just my personal opinions, & tastes of course... feels good to rant sometimes, don't it? 😀 )

My favorites are like many others here...but there are several pet peeves I have that I'd list that significantly affect my purchasing patterns.

1) Poor or clumsy bondage - if a ticklee can move too much & effectively disrupt the tickling, it usually equals a fast fwd for me...which automatically makes me feel like I paid too much...lol

2) Poor tickling - too mild, tickler not "tuned in" to the ticklees' responses, and/or not aggressively tickling the most ticklish areas, or giving too many breaks = ffwd. lol

3) Too much disruptive chatter by tickler - if there's too much banter going on, I can't hear the friggin' laughter! LOL A little periodic playful teasing is fine, but I'm not paying to hear the 'ler ramble on...or hear both of them engage in a political debate...lol. (Clearly the ticklee's not being pushed to her limits if she's able to intelligibly discuss the Israeli-Palestinian conflict while the tickling's going on.) Note a male (i.e., bass) voice in an m>f vid is the worst here for me. So, too much chatter = ffwd. 😀

4) Not enough erotic tickling - I've seen erotic tickling in SO FEW vids that it always catches my eye when it's there. I acknowledge it's probably pretty difficult to find 'lees capable and/or willing to be tickled to orgasm on a vid. It's also probably hard to get ticklees to permit there ...ahem... more "personal areas" to be tickled on film, but it's pretty frustrating sometimes to see 'lees tickled everywhere EXCEPT there. Gets old, predictable, and hence boring.

5) Poor attention to a ticklees reactions - Ticklees should be pre- screened for good reactions, not just ticklishness! For example, too much bloodcurdling screaming is OUT for me...lol. A decent mixture of reactions might be fine, but by and large, folks seem to prefer a good deal of laughter (ranging from giggling to silent), some begging, pleading, etc. If the ticklee is very ticklish, but reacts with a wide-eyed blank stare, or just screams like a banshee I'd like to know in advance so I can save my money! lol

6) Poor video quality/camera angles/lighting - If I have any trouble seeing what's important, this just makes me wonder why I bought the video to begin with. lol

7) "Cheap feel" - This is what usually makes amateur videos a tough sell for me. "Ratty-looking" sets or clothing or appearance of models and/or tickler kinda kills a lot for me. It's not always a show-stopper, but it makes the whole product feel like a waste of my money. (If they clearly didn't put any expense into it, why am I paying so much, again??? lol)

8) Too much time spent NOT tickling - If a company sells me a "50-minute tk video" with 10mins of plot (total) and 5mins (total) showing the ticklee being tied up, I'll feel cheated; it's really a 35 minute tk video. Plots are nice, but I'd rather not see too much time devoted to them (or elaborate setups) at the expense of tickling. (A little is OK, though.) If the two can be integrated (without too many cheesy lines), fine. If I have to ffwd through this the very first time I watch a vid...there's waaaay too much of it there for me. lol

Don't have too much experience with Tickle Vidoes

The few that I own, and the clips I have seen many have two basic flaws for me.

1) Very poor bondage techniques. The lee can thrash around so much due to the slack, or due to lack of an effective anchor point, I know she could actually walk away if she choses.

2) Most vidoes have one or two really great actions, and almost always they are too short, maybe just a few seconds to a half a minute. Usually the ler had just the effect you want to see when suddenly the ler changes type of tickle, or tickle spot, to completely shut down the effect you were watching and the enjoyment. It leaves me with the feeling that it was going so good why didn't it continue. Why substitute great action and effects for anything else, that will almost always be of lesser content? That is the one thing that puzzles me about ticklers in vidoes.

bella, I think you should do a LOT of videos...

Bella, I really hope you are planning to put a LOT of videos, judging from the responses already given. Some like plot, some hate it. Some like M/F, others like F/F.

A few things I hate, that I think many people also hate, and the reasons:

1. Gags - what's the point?! The entire purpose of tickling someone is to hear them laugh. Putting a gag on a ticklee is like removing the taste buds from your mouth and then eating a delicious cookie! It's like going see Star Wars Episode 2, or the Matrix 2, and wearing a blindfold!

2. An OVERTALKATIVE tickler. I would love to see a few videos of a tickler who says absolutely nothing, but it only work with a story and a girl tickler. I could think of a reasonable scenario. I don't mind a little talking, but watch some of the videos from Extremetickling.com. They talk and talk and talk, and you want to hand a dollar to the screen and say "Shut up!" You can't make out laughs because all you hear is the tickler's big mouth! (I think this is more a factor of good acting and discipline. The tickler gets exciting, and must relieve the excitement by talking and talking. AND, some people, in that situation, feel they need to fill the quiet by saying something, it takes discipline to shut up and tickle, nervous people would talk just to hear themselves talk.)

3. I like F/F because of the above reason - girls seem to be able to handle themselves better than guys when tickling. I find girls can keep quiet, or only talk as needed, while a guy, because he's a guy and gets excited, will talk non-stop. And girls have those nails to tickle with...

4. I like a little plot. A reason for the ticklee to be tickled makes it more realistic, like this is something you may stumble upon one day! But added to that:

5. I like anticipation! The subtle things that happen before the tickling to set up the situation, or just the model being herself so that we get to know her, even if it is a small way. When the video fades up to a model in stocks, tickler ready, it just seems...fake. We all know it is, but I find I can't get over the fact that this is just some paid model who is waiting to get it over with to collect her check.

again, if you hate the plot that much, just fast forward to the tickling! (It's that little FF button on the remote....)

6. Speaking of, I'm getting tired of those STOCKS! Those things are used so much, it dulls the effect, you see them in almost every video.

7. I think it's universal that NO ONE wants to see a ticklee who doesn't laugh, or looks bored, or annoyed. In the rush to get pretty girls, I think the companies should be discerning and say, "Okay, you're pretty, but you don't laugh, so, you'll just be a tickler..." or something.

and finally...

8. This should probably start a new thread: I'm tired of seeing the hottest model being tickled. We have models. Then we have better models. Then we have playboy models. Then we may have an out of work movie star. Then, maybe, a REAL movie star, then... and I'm thinking, I just want to see a girl, relatively attractive, who enjoys being tickled, with a beautiful laugh...being tickled. Some of these playboy models there aren't ticklish. It seems you video guys and gals keep wanting to aim higher, while I say aim BETTER. Aim for better camera, better lights, better plots (for those videos that feature plots) better outfits maybe, better sets, DVDs instead of VHS tapes... and forget the super high paid models and celebrities.

I understand where that come from, the thought that the higher the celebrity, the more mainstream we will become. I say, forget that, concentrate on making the videos better quality, and MAYBE then aim for the playboy models..if they are ticklish.

I think we could start another thread about what you DO want to see in a tickle video, so I will....

Y'know what I hate in tickle videos?

The lame-ass plots. I mean c'mon, these people are not actors by any stretch of the imagination, I do NOT want to suffer through them stumbling through dialogue that's supposed to set up the scene. It's downright painful.

This is the only thing that killed "Spy Interrogation" for me, which is otherwise a fantabulous video (I am secretly in love with Lily; I wonder if she wants to pose for a video game...).

The plot didn't even work; they kept on using cutaways of this nimrod getting pissed because Lily wouldn't spill, then come to find out... well, if you haven't seen it I won't spoil it, but the rest of you know what I'm talking about.

We're here to see people being tickled. I don't care about the hows or whys; just give me an hour or two of Lily's feet getting their due and I'm a happy man. Interspersing it with footage of some twit trying to act all bad-ass and failing only makes me reach for the mute button.

Otherwise I second all the topics brung up here, especially that of talkative ticklers. God, I hate them; do away with those yakkity men, for the love of God!
