For those who like something unusual....Cool & Strange Music this place has some files you can still grab. Drew suscribed to the magazine. So, we got invited to take advantage. The link's to the actual page...filles below the letter. But, the site itself is worth checking out.

One question I have...we saved the above files to disc. It will play on the computer but not the regular CD player. Is that supposed to be true or is there something I don't know? Since Drew is so into his music, I'd like to be able to make up CDs we can play elsewhere. We've never taken advantage of MP3s before this. But, there IS some great stuff out there.

Format...

Are you saving them in .wav or .mp3 fomat? If your CD player isn't able to play digital/mp3 tunes, obviously it won't work. Even after converting and burning mp3s to wav format, I occasionally have a problem with certain CD players not playing/reading them well, but it's becoming increasingly rare. An MP3 player is nice, because you can burn 170+ songs onto one disc and not have to fuss with your music during a party or get togther. Q

Maggot Brain...

and Atomic Dog by Parliament Funkadelic,
anything by Everlast.
Kid Rock
Sheryl Crow
Ian Hunter

Tron

Disco
80's
Rock
Pop
Some Heavy Metal
Some Rap/R&B...

Absolutely no Country.

Cheers.😀

I have so many mp3's on my computer, I bet the RIAA would try to shut it down if they ever found out. 😛

The kind of music I listen to varies greatly. My mp3s folder has 58 folders in it, each of which is a singer or group. To name a few, Adam Sandler, Eminem, Green Day, Guns n Roses, Kid Rock, Offspring, Papa Roach, REM, Weird Al. But then there's video game music. I've got about 600 video game music mp3s, most of which are from Final Fantasy games, but the collection also includes Chrono Trigger, F-Zero X, the Mega Man X series, Super Smash Bros. Melee, and Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

My playlist is currently composed of:

DMX - Gonna Give It To Ya
50 Cent - In Da Club
Bowling For Soup - The Girl All The Bad Guys Want
Crooked Jimmy - Idle
Disturbed - Believe
Dry Cell - Body Crumbles
Eminem - Lose Yourself
Eminem - Superman
Foo Fighters - All My Life
Trapt - Headstrong
Jay Z/Eminem - Renegade
Weezer - Hash Pipe
Justin Timberlake - Rock Your Body
Nickelback - Never Again
Papa Roach - Time And Time Again
t.A.T.u. - All The Things She Said
Hoobastank - Running Away

Needless to say, I have a wide variety of tastes...lol Of course, my playlist changes on about a weekly basis.

Mimi 🙂

ps Ann, Roxio’s Easy CD Creator 5 is a great program and allows you to copy in any format. even one that any CD player recognizes. agree with Q tho, MP3’s are great for the amount of quality music you can cram onto one CD.

Elvis Costello (Pump It Up)
The Fabulous Thunderbirds (Wrap it Up, Tough Enough)
The Other Elvis (A Little Less Conversation and Heartbreak Hotel)
Pink Floyd (Numerous Songs)
Tom Petty (Running Down A Dream)

there are others but I can't remember them right now.

To list everything on my MP3 player would take a while.

On my player (a 10 gig Archos Jukebox) I have:

1187 files, totalling just over 83 hours, that's almost 3 and a half DAYS of audio, and I still have almost 2 gigs left on the thing.

Most are legal rips of cd's I own, but a lot are downloaded.

I've got stuff ranging from, Journey to Tool, and Travis Tritt to Rage Against the Machine. I've also got a couple George Carlin albums on it, and a few audio books.

I love this thing!

Where Do you Get Your MP3's From

What programs does everyone use to download their music from? After my beloved Napster died, I started using WINMX and have been using it ever since!

Maggie

All the same basically...

I use LimeWire/Kazaa & Grokster, and I have Win stashed in here somewhere ....*rustle rustle*....depends on my mood, I guess. :zzzzz: Q

I was using Limewire but hated it, so many problems.... so now I use Grokster.

Hey - here's a question. I have the most updated MusicMatch Jukebox, and I can supposedly put music from my own CDs into my library by recording the CD tracks from my RW CD drive. My problem is this - the recording of the music track to MusicMatch seems to go well, but when the song is being added to my library, EVERYTHING freezes and even control+alt+delete won't shut my computer down (I have to press the start/restart button on the tower) What causes this and what can I do to fix it?
