Hi All! First off, I'm not bashing any of the fortnight players. Just wondering why that game, of all games, is so popular.
I haven't played it myself, but as near as I can figure, it's basically parachute down onto an island, build your fort, kill all the NPC's (or whatever)
That sounds a little like "Quake" style game play to me (mixed with a little Minecraft). TBH, I've always been more of a thinking -mans gamer. Now, I'm not talking puzzle games (although, a game with a few puzzles isn't a bad thing) I mean games like "Zelda ALTTP" back on the SNES, where you had to think a bit to beat the bosses.
Now, before anyone says it. Yes, I am a fan of Skyrim. But, at least on that you get to build your character. And, think about how their skills would play in-game (for instance, I hate the Brute style of character: no thinking, just run into battle swinging a War Hammer (or whatever). It's a lot more fun to play as a mage or other magic using or ranged character, IMO.
