What's up with this NEW New chat room?

Just went there and everything is totally different. Had to download some digi chat thingy. Went to chat room and was totally surprized at the new look and arrangement. A tad bit confused. Is the chat room working here or does one have to go to the yahoo version?

It's working fine. If you entered it as you said, then it's up.

You shouldn't have had to download anything, but you may have been asked to 'allow' a session by your computers java security. Choose the 'always allow' option. The 'one time' option will not work.

TTD, I may be able to understand your initial shock, and I will sympathize with you one ounce, but the other 15 ounces are with the new room. Pound for pound; it really is a major step ahead.

First,,,

Girls will no longer be bombarded with a screen full of PC "requests" the moment they enter the room. This will attract a far more balanced male-to-female ratio; in fact, it already is doing that.

Second,,,

You can choose your font size. For far-sighted and near-sighted people alike, this is THE factor that makes it usable.

Third,,,

The girls won't be bombarded with PC hits the moment they enter the room.


Fourth,,,

You can choose from five different scrolling speeds. Evelyn Wood will be just as happy as people who enjoy reading the words out loud with their mouths speaking each syllable.

Fifth,,,

Girls can enter the room and the impolite guys who bomb them with requests will just scroll off the screen


Sixth,,,

You Can choose what sounds (if any) you want to accompany just about any event that occurs.


Seventh,,,

Girls can now enjoy the chat room without the deluge of private requests which was so common in the previous chat room.

Eighth,,,

It's now safe for the girls to enter.

I'm impressed with Mr. Peefifty's unfettered joy...and that's nice...
I'm a little disappointed that I don't see many of the old timers in there, partaking in great conversations, which to me was always the allure. I always used to look forward to entering the chatroom, wondering what fun I would find. Now, when I think of going in there, I'm wondering how fast I'm gonna cut out of there. Just me. But I do wonder how many others I speak for as well...

Knoxie, I don't know which old-timers you're referring to; in my experience there are a couple of guys that have disappeared that I not only don't miss at all but are such a relief not to have to deal with anymore!

Having been in the "old" chat room only a handfull of times and the new one almost as often thus far....I have to say the updated version is much better...now if I can only find the time to figure out simple things like how to whisper...lol...seems my whispers end up being shout outs...lol...but that has nothing to do with any fault of the room, it's me...half of the functions on most of the technology in my house go unused because I have no time to even read the manuals....lol

Ok. I am fine with the whys and what fors with the new chat room. I will eventually get used to it. Not that I have been visiting the chatroom Old or New for some time and for a few reasons I will not get into here. I was just making sure I was doing things right with all the "changes" made here in the TMF chat as of late and the fact that I had to take an extra step or two to get there with some sort of down load with windows and Java in order to even get INTO the chatroom. When I got there, it was, to my surprise, empty, ergo I thought perhaps I did something wrong. Nevertheless, I guess all is well there.
