I am just watching Diana Krall on the telly, she has to be one of my fav bands at the moment, so nice to hear people who have learnt to play and sing before starting their recording careers (Bod Dylan still cant manage it) who knows maybe this novel concept will catch on.
Hey Q I saw an interview with Bill Whyman the other day were he admits he does not know the name of the open strings on his guitar! (pond life or what???!!!!)
For me, it's gotta be:
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
and:
old Van Halen (up to Diver Down)
old Aerosmith (up to Permanent Vacation)
old Jethro Tull (up to Stormwatch)
old ZZ-Top (up to Eliminator)
old Deep Purple (up to Who Do You Think We Are)
Good God, Dave2112, you really told your age with that post :] Brafus, too; it's good to know there some of my peers on this board.
Prime: thank you for your Pink Floyd endorsement. I think everyone should listen to The Wall, I don't care who you are. My music tastes are not impeccable, though; I'm listening to "Play That Funky Music" by Wild Cherry right now.
Damn, how could I have forgotten Journey? (Pre-"Raised on Radio", however)
Also, honorable mention has to be given to those bands that, along with Daddy, I spent much time with in the '80's: Y&T, Dokken, Iron Maiden, Warlock, Yngwie Malmsteen, Talas...
...oh yeah, don't forget Captain Geech and the Shrimp Shack Shooters. Awesome little combo.😎
ummm yes i'd like a 3 piece fish dinner extra fries and oh yeah please sing for us...lol j/k... they have a name you cant forget though..maybe ill see if i can find any of theire stuff to listen too.
Genre wise, I'm more of a BLUESY-JAZZY kinda girl if you're talking about what I listen to most of the time. As far as BANDS or individuals there are a few that don't fall into my category of favorite music, but whom I like a lot and enjoyed the concerts of some more than others.
