I've been very selective about posting personal information, but I felt I wanted to post this.
Since I've shared my seizure episodes/horrors with my friends, and have received support that I;ve appreciated.
I thought I would share what is hopefully the best news I've received about this situation.
As I mentioned in the thread about my latest seizure on September 17th, I finally sought the aid of a neurologist to deal with the problem, and had to wear head and body monitoring gear for 48 hours during the weekend of September 23 to 25.
I met with the neurologist today.
He explained the situation to me, and that my seizures are caused by a combination of neurological/physiological, and psychological factors.
The Dr put me on a very detailed prescription that is supposed to control these factors.
The medicine, is supposed to eliminate the seizures
Additionally, it also has an ingredient to help stablize my mood, and help control anxiety, etc.
I have to see the Dr again in a month, to be checked, and also so he can refill/maybe adjust my medications.
This is the best news I've received since I left Aflac.
Now, after a short break, to make sure that my body adjusts well to the medications, it is back to life, Thank God.
I want to thank all of my friends who have supported me through this terrible ordeal.
The only recurring medical problem I have, is severe pain in my neck and back after the last seizure.
The Dr thinks that is from the fall I suffered when I had the seizure, and he believes it will abate in time.
It is such a relief to know that a medication can control this problem.
I had to laugh. After the Dr met with me to explain everything, he had a conference with my father and I in his outer office, and the Dr said. "Mitch, you just have to follow the medication as directed".
Of course I will. I've been on BP meds since I'm 35, and these anti seizure meds will help me eliminate this terrible problem with the seizures. It;s like, why wouldn't I?
Now I can just exhale, and relax.
