We generally hung out at the house of one of those in our neighborhood group. We'd mainly listen to records and gab.

varies by year

in my freshman year i stayed home, or had a friend over.
sophmore year i went to demolay functions occasionally, friends, or stayed home (which was most of the time, lol)
junior year i went out with friends. bowling, movies, etc.
senior year dated, worked, friends, etc.

Saturday Night Fever...

I forget. So, it couldn't have been that good...

Oh yeah, I'd have to go to these family functions where I'd meet others in my community, listen to them regale aboot how they were academic superstars and, when they became doctors, were going to save the planet from illness and disease.

Then they would all go downstairs to pray, looking at me expectantly. And when I wouldn't join them, ask me with wide-eyed wonder if I wanted to go to hell.

I would turn them and say, "It can't be much different from this place."

We just generally hung out at the house playing games, I wasn't allowed to go out on a school night or until I was 18. We played nintendo.....man my thumb was sore the night day! I loved playing those games, Metroid, The Legend of Zelda, Mario Brothers 😀
Yep, I saved the princess and Killed the Mother brain in Metroid at the end of that game if you made it to the top fast enough you would get a surprised ending? That was cool!😀

Usually one of three things:

1). Hang out with friends (at their house)....

2). Practice/play gigs with assorted musician friends....

3). Rehearse/perform various high school plays.


1 & 2 were occasionally combined.

The first part of highschool found me spending alot of my Saturday nights playing my bass at home (I didn't mind at the time, I had a bad view of most people in general and wasn't as social as most kids my age) later I got involved in practising and playing gigs in the various bands I was in. I was usually the guy who left right when the gig was over and didn't hang out or party much with other people. I slowly started emerging into an underground scene and getting to know alot of people, and started socializing more. Well that's the short version anyway (LOL).

I hung out with a select group of friends and a girlfriend. We'd basically sit around at one of our houses either watching movies, playing video games, Dungeons & Dragons, or we'd go out to Denny's to drink coffee until the wee hours of the morning. Yeah, there isn't much to do in Spring Hill, Florida.

Pretty much anything I wanted to.

I was working at age 17 part time after school...I was driving at 17.
Had my own car at 17. ( a 1972 Ford Mustang)

I was never "ordered" what to do or what not to do. I was trusted by my folks and deservedly so.

I could take up way too much space if I went into details of what I did every Saturday Night.

In a word...."whatever".
