Obviously, this is a question for members who are at least 65 years old.
On November 22, 1963, President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas, while riding in an open car in a motorcade.
I was in an art class in my junior high school in New Jersey. Without explanation, the public address system came on. Out of the speaker on the wall in our classroom came a radio announcer's voice. The first thing we heard was, "... and Vice President Johnson is unharmed." I realized that nobody would give a damn about the well-being of Lyndon B. Johnson unless the President was seriously hurt or seriously ill. The news went downhill from there.
Where were you? What did you hear first?
