Hi all,

I've been having a look through at some of my old threads and having moved on a lot since my early activity on here I'd like to delete a couple of old threads as they don't reflect who I am now.

I know I have to ask a moderator to do this for me so I'm wondering who to ask.

Thankyou.

lol wouldn't we all?

Unfortunately, that's not really a reason to delete a thread. It would affect a lot of other peoples' post count who participated in the thread and it's typically a headache for the mods to do that. You can try to contact Myriads about it, but don't think it's likely to happen.

What you put out the internet stays there, I'm afraid. You can't delete your account here either.

Crikey, If I'd know that I'd never have signed up! Well, if anyone's daft enough not to read the post date or assume I've not lived and learnt or even change perspectives that's their problem. I'll know to dip in here lightly from now on.

Probably helps if a lot of them are old. No one goes looking really for old threads for the most part, so they get buried under the new stuff. It's likely a lot of people missed your old threads completely.

You can edit your own posts. If there's stuff you don't want, go back and delete it yourself, why do we have to do it for you?

Yep, I can see how complex this site is with regards forum rankings. Thanks for letting me know.

You can't delete threads though, so no point really editing them if there's a shit ton of responses and quoting going on.

But yeah, if you really want to, you can edit the post that started the thread and erase what you originally wrote (but not delete it) and then delete all the posts you made within the thread.

Right. But what you seem to want is for us to delete other people's posts, which we're not going to do.

I just saw the thread you're talking about, about voice verification? This question was phrased very generally, and Annie's response was based on that, I assume, as was mine.

In specific, if you have an out of date thread, and there's a specific reason to remove it from active life, we're generally very willing to do that. Just drop me a PM if that's the one you meant, and I'll kill it.

In your FAQs it says to ask a moderator to delete threads because we can do it ourselves. Maybe your FAQs need updating.

I already do manage my old posts on here in those ways suggested. It's useful to do as one learns and grows on the Scene. Thankyou for the suggestions. I'm already on the case.
