I just got done listening to the theme song from Weird Science on my computer, and I realized, that movie has eveything that defined the 80's: the tight, pre-ripped clothes, the big hair, the bland rawk pop music, the surfer-dude slang words like "rad", the beige box computers and LPs, even a biker gang of Road Warrior rejects! I dare anyone to think of a more '80's movie.

I think there are many films that represent that decade, so I'll just blurt out the first one to come to mind- Valley Girl. It is a very early role for Nicholas Cage (his first leading role?) and posseses all the aforementioned fashion and linguistic ideals of the era. Also, the soundtrack, which I never could find, was a great collection of some of the best early 80s pop music. It was a good film.

I don't know how evocative it is, but one of my favorit '80's films has always been "The Breakfast Club". There's just something about it. Back in those days, we didn't think about high school difficulties, cliques and social stations as much as we do today, having seen the horrible aftereffects so gruesomely portrayed by the media today. I mean, we knew they existed, but we really didn't bring them to the forefront. I thought the music was cool, and the characters were fantastic. Each one represented an entire microcosmic society that existed in every school. To this day, I still watch that movie once in a while.

Just my 2 credits.😎
