which Presidential candidate would you like to chat with just one on one?

CNN posed this question i believe..so i thought i would ask here..of Obama or McCain..which would you like to sit and have a cozy fire side chat with..

i chose McCain..but not because i'm going to vote for him..i want to talk to him about his service in the Armed Forces and his terrible experiences as a POW...did you know what all he missed...he missed both assassinations..of Robert Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr....he missed the landing on the moon...he missed the Black Power thingie at the 68 Olympics..he missed so many things because he was a POW...

That's nothing compared to what we're all going to miss if he gets elected (like a functioning economy, separation of televangelist megachurch and state, freedom to control our bodies, etc.)

Yes, I feel for the man and what he went through 40 years ago, but I think what I'd like to ask him one-on-one is, Senator McCain, why do you want to throw America to people who want to turn the country which put men on the moon into 16th-century Europe?

^ yikes i know..now i'm not voting for him though..i'm not sure who i'm going to vote for..the media rather turned me against them all...i might go with Ron Paul, however i would have to write in his name..and since we have touch screen voting, i'm not sure how to do that..ah well..

If McCain dies in office, Palin takes over, and what kopfhorer references in his post, becomes reality. Roe V. Wade overturned: back alley abortions return. Big brother takes an expanded role, big business becomes bigger, the rich become richer, we try to quick-fix the oil crisis instead of investing in alternative energy...

I'll take my chances with the Dems this time, even if my taxes increase a bit.

And to answer the original question: I'd like to chat with both of them, of course, but I think I'd like to chat with Obama. He's had the most to overcome, I think. His path through the political scene probably a bit more difficult.

aha i asked a question on another forum earlier this week..

the republicans have been in power now for eight years..and abortion is still legal..why didn't they do what they so often threatened to do? why didn't they make abortion illegal?

Simply, the Supreme Court would probably still uphold it by a 5-4 vote. A couple of the more liberal justices are far from young. I don't think the conservatives would actually challenge Roe V. Wade again until they're sure they could win a 7-2 judgment or something. It's in the hands of the judicial system to overturn or uphold the decision. It is not a legislative thing.

Besides, we're too busy making enemies faster than we can kill 'em. :super_hap

If Roe V. Wade were overturned it would not end abortions, sheesh, please people. It would send the issue back to the state legislatures where it belongs. Let the states determine their own laws without the federal government butting in.

As for John McCain dying, his mother is like 300 years old. He isn't going anywhere.

Now as for which presidential candidate that I would like to chat with it Sarah Palin. I'd love to hear about life in Alaska. I've always wanted to visit there. Of all four presidential / vice-presidential candidates she seems most down to Earth. The most real of the three.

I think I would like to chat with both just to hear what they would say one on one that they perhaps would not talk about in front of a large audience or before the media.Talking to them one on one might make it easier to judge if they were being honest as well.

This may sound like a slam against him, but it's not intended that way. It's genuine curiosity

I would like to talk to Obama face to face in that kind of set up just to see how well he can communicate without a teleprompter. From what I have seen so far, he's great as long as he has a script, but if someone throws stuff at him that's off the script his handlers prepped him with, he looses all focus and function. It makes me think he is all fluff and no substance. Hence, I'll like to talk to him face to face w/o handlers to see how he (pardon the pun) handles it.

I would want to spend some time with Sarah Palin, who is a lot more interesting than McCain, Obama or Biden. Imagine, though, stopping abortion (terrible), stop funding feminists (awful), encourage women to stay home and look after their kids so they don't end up joining gangs for attention and guidance (horrible), make people responsible for their own families and circumstances (short-sighted), return marriage to a man and woman (homophobic), and so on. Gee, that's God's side - that's why it's called the right. So who runs the other side, the left side, that leads to every evil we can imagine - why, it's Satan, the Devil, he who deceives everyone by pretending to be the good side and doing evil under his leftist cover.
