since we have had so much SPIRITED wrestling banter I figured why not ask your opinions on this

First on the list for me is The Road Warriors. they revolutionzed the whole tag team genre. The Rock n Roll Express, Fantastics, Midnight Express, Steiners, Minnesota Wrecking Crew , British bulldogs and Doom were all-time great tag-teams

Six man tags were dominated by the Von Erichs & the Fabulous Freebirds

yeah I think the Road Warriors were the best, British Bulldogs were great. Don't forget the Hart Foundation, New Age Outlaws, DX, Outsiders and what about Barry Windham and Mike Rotundo?

All of the above mentioned were great, and I'd also like to add Demolition to the list, I always liked those guys.

Edge and Christian were my favorite tag team during they're fued with the Dudleys and Hardy's. The tag-titles don't mean much right now. The tag-divisions are lacking.

here's my top 10

The Road Warriors
The Steiners
Midnight Express
The Eliminators
The Dudley Boyz
Doc and Gordy
The Minnesota Wrecking Crew
Harlem Heat
Fabulous Freebirds
Rock n' Roll Express

NO ONE mentioned Afa and Seka (The Wild Samoans)??? What the hell is wrong with you people? :disgust:

Seriously, the Hart Foundation would get my vote too. Another tag team that many overlook, but they WERE great together, was IRS (aka Mike Rotundo) and Ted Dibiase. If memory serves correctly, they held the tag belts for over a year and never ducked anybody. I could be wrong though as my memory isn't what it used to be.

The Road Warriors definitely rank up there, as does Harlem Heat. And Doom. Ron Simmons and Butch Reed were devastating together. Can't take anything away from the Dudleys either. How many times did they have tag gold?

Also, in the early ECW days, Chris Benoit and Dean Melenko were awesome together.

The Brothers of Destruction. Period end of story. They would dominate any era and any team if they so chose too.

The Outsiders - Scott Hall and Kevin Nash - Perfect blend of technical wrestling and straight up power.

The Rockers - Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty - So much fun to watch when they were together. Maybe the best tag team never to win the tag team titles.

The Horsemen - Any combination from the legendary Ric Flair and Arn Anderson to Windham and Anderson to Anderson and Blachard were a great team. You go from new to old and you wouldn't go wrong.

The Dudley Boyz - Bubba Ray and Devon - two guys who just let fly. They said that they may not be the most technically sound wrestlers but they didnt care because they got it done in the ring.

The Hart Foundation - Bret "The Hitman" Hart and Jim "The Anvil" Neihardt - Again, perfect blend of technical wrestling and straight power.

I know Im leaving out some, but these team desevre a mention.

They are fearsome no doubt. But I think the Road Warriors of about 85 and the Steiners of 92 could beat them.

I never really saw The Wild Samoans but I did see their sons the Samoan Swat Team and they were pretty rough.

Do you guys remember Power & Glory (Hercules and Paul Roma)? Overall they were an ok team but they had the best finisher I have ever seen. Herc would hit a guy with a superplex and almost simultaneously Roma would hit a top rope splash. I swear the time between the superplex and the splash was like 1 second. We all know wrestling is scripted but you can't fake gravity and that ring is not soft. That's one bump I would pass on. I'd rather take a 3-D or Doomsday Device than that.

It hasn't happened yet but there is a potential tag team that would make this discussion moot. If Vince ever put Kali and Big Show together...they would crush everyone. You could have 4 on 2 handicaps and it wouldn't make a difference. Vince if you're reading this: don't ever do it.

Big John Studd and King Kong Bundy. The Super Machine, the Big Machine, and the Giant Machine.

I won't reiterate those already said, but some I noticed were missing were:

The Blackjacks
The Brisco Bros.
The Nasty Boys
Power & Glory
The Bushwhackers (just for fun 😉 )
The Natural Disasters
Money Inc.

Snail Shell

Along with the greats who have previously been mentioned. I'd like to add British Bulldog and Owen Hart. They were a great team.

Off the top of my head:

The Dudley Boyz
The Rockers
The British Bulldogs
The Road Warriors

I haven't been watching wrestling as religously as I used to, but it does seem like traditional tag-teams are sort of on the wane and being replaced by super teams of two singles competitors together. That's unfortunate.

The Hart Foundation
Stieners
Britsh Bulldogs Bulldogs
The Brain Busters
Davy Boy Smith & Owen Hart
Worlds Greatest Tag Team (though they were split up way to soon)

One of the best Tag matchs I ever saw was a match between the Stieners and the Hart Brothers. You want to talk about four of the best, thats 4 of the best.

Just for originality, I'll use some TNA teams...

America's Most Wanted

AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels.

Motor City Machine Guns

And since noone's mentioned the Bushwhackers, how bout them too?

The eliminators John Kronus and Perry Saturn
Brainbusters(tully blanchard and arn anderson)
demolition
StrikeForce(tita santana and rick martel)
The freebirds
Rock N Roll express
Midnight express

Good lord, how did I forget those?? Especially the Eliminators and the Midnite Express.

You have humbled me, Goodie. :bowing:

I'm glad other people thought The Eliminators were a great tag team. A couple I just remembered, The Skyscrapers Dan Spivey and Sid Vicious and later Mean Mark Callous (Undertaker). Taker's move was the Heart Punch. Then, I am ashamed to admit that I forgot, Faces of Fear. What's so crazy is that Meng and Barbarian were considered the the two hardest shooters in WCW at the time and they never had the belts.

Next to Andrea the Giant I would have to say Ming had a bad ass rep. He and Curt Henig once cleared out a bar in St Louse on thier own. SPeaking of Andrea and Haku, how about the Colossal Conection.

Greatest tag teams? Nice thread.... Here are mine

British Bulldogs - No doubt, my favorite team of ALL time. In fact, it was 22 years ago TODAY (April 7, 1986) that they won the WWF Tag Team titles at Wrestlemania 2.
Demolition
Hart Foundation
Road Warriors
Rock n Roll Express
Strike Force (Tito Santana, Rick Martel)
Midnight Express
Steiner Brothers
Brain Busters (Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard)
Dudley Boyz
Christian-Edge
Hardy Boys
Santino Marella-Carlito (yeah, right. Just seeing if you're paying attention).
New Age Outlaws
Outsiders (Kevin Nash - Scott Hall)

The Tag Team division sucks nowadays....

Eliminators were what got me into ecw at first. They were running a 2 week stint on Fox Sports chicago and they were in the eliminators\dudleys feud, this was right prior to saturn tearing his acl
