the foreign car companies contributed nothing at all to thecitizens of the United States.

It's OK for these companies to take money out of this country, but it is apparently not acceptable to return some in a time of crisis. I believe we should not forget things like this. Say thank you in a way thatgets their attention. Pass it on

Very interesting information Q and well stated opinion. I've always bought American and this information surly has persuaded me from considering anything else. Thanks for the info. It's good to know these things. I must say though these findings unfourtunatly are not suprising.

Hey Q,
Being the informed shopper that I am....though usually only about shoes 😛....I started checking out some websites.I'm looking at cars right now and I was livid reading that list! That report was right about a couple...but I did get stumped with Toyota. They do have a fund..though it is minor compared to $10m.

I'm with you on the supporting of companies that support America. I wonder if CNN will catch some flack if they were off the mark.

You watchdog you!!

Here's the link to the Toyota biz if you're interested.

Nice catch Jo!

I believe this list was compiled approximately at the end of October Jo, so much thanks for the update....perhaps a few others on the list will get involved if enough people pass this list around and it gets sent to a few mid level management people in their companies. Q

Hehe...Thanks Q-bert! 😉

...

Now, i hate to say this, and i admit i could be wrong, but i don't think the donations by the American car companies are souly done for the benefit of Americans. Call me Cynical if you will, but i think that this is just a form of advertisement. Now, unless i'm mistaken, which could very well be the fact, most American car companies have been losing out to the japanese companies for the last few years now. Because of that, sales are low. So, after the tragedy happens, Ford and other American vehical companies step in and make donations, saying to the American people that they care. Now, 1 million dollars certainly is a fair amount of money, but considering these are probably billion dollar companies, they could probably donate a fair amount more if they wanted too. Normal i wouldn't have thought to much about this, but i remember seeing a Ford commercial about how they were donating trucks to the NY fire fighters.
Maybe i'm wrong and maybe i'm just cynical, but i wouldn't rule it out as a possibility.
