I'm not much of a gamer. Sure, I rode the wave of gaming technology starting with Pong in 1975, to the early arcade games like Breakout, Donkey Kong, etc. I was an avid fan of NES and then Sega Genesis, but once I got my first PC, my interest in games and consoles waned considerably.
But recently I've been playing Minecraft. I first saw it two years ago while taking a college course. One of the guys was playing it during class and I asked him about it. Then more recently one of my nephews was playing it on XBOX 360.
I really like it because it offers themes of exploration, combat, construction, creativity, and survival. If you get tired of exploring dark caves, you can spend time farming. The whole block technology thing is in my opinion pure genius.
A friend of mine recently told me about a guy who actually constructed the Starship Enterprise in Minecraft. Check out the attachments.
I'm just curious if anybody else here likes the game. Tips and pointers are always welcome, too.
