I say Tyson. The guy is a maniac. What about you guys??

i agree i think tyson willl win. what about the baby joe mesi fight in arizona?

not sure

If Lewis is on his offensive game, I think he'll take it. But, if he's playing the defensive side, I suspect that Tyson will win. Even though I can't stand Tyson, he always seems to be on the offensive (and is alway offensive as well). Lewis is inconsistant on that point. I just hope it's a decent fight!

If there's even a fight at all. I wonder if Tyson will try to attack Lewis before the fight so he won't have to fight. If the fight DOES happen, lets hope Tyson has eaten before the fight and not during it.

😀

Jason! You took the words out of my mouth!!

Hopefully Tyson has a light snack before the 1st round or Lewis doesn't have a chance...lol

Joby...pullin' for Lewis because he seems to be a little more "honorable" than his opponent.

And I'm pullin' for him, since at least HE can speak better than a first-grader..unlike a certain ear-biting boxer. lol

Tyson..

Has never been on the offensive against a decent fighter.
And Lewis is FAR better than decent.

It doesn't matter anyway, I can whup both their asses.

I gotta go with Lewis, based on style and ability.😎

Mike Tyson is a lunatic and gives boxing a bad name.I hope Lewis beats him till he is unconscious!!!!

I think Lewis should take it unless...

Tyson is able to exploit Lennox's weakness, his chin. Against Oliver McCall (LL loss) and Frank Bruno (an LL win, barely), Lenox has shown that a good head shot can get him into trouble (I didn't see the first Rahman fight, so I don't know if that was factor in Rahman's win or not). But, Tyson has to get inside to deliver it. And given the reach advantage that Lewis has, I don't see that happening unless Lewis is foolish enough to stand toe to toe and swap punches with Iron Mike instead of box. That would be a mistake.

getting set to go....

With the pre-bout interview with Mike, he's looking much calmer and more focused than I've seen him in a long time. Maybe they've got him back on his meds? I'm still pulling for Lewis. But, we may actually see a real fight if Tyson keeps his head together.
We'll see.....

Obviously Lewis was the better fighter tonight, of course Tyson has fought nothing but tomato cans for the past 5 years. He wasn't ready for a REAL challenge. Although it was refreshing to see Tyson act civil for a change.

I actually enjoyed the fight. Tyson didn't pull any garbage and was a real sport...though he didn't fight well. Though I thought that Lewis could and should have put him down sooner, it was a decent bout.

It was amazing to see the extra security precautions that were taken...searching everyone (including the fighters and their teams), limitting the number of attendees in each corner, having the line of security staff between them in the ring before the fight got under way. Amazing! I think it's also the first time I've seen two ring announcers.

Was the event worth the $$$? I think it actually was...unlike most of Tyson's more recent fights.

I'm not a fan of either fighter, and I thought it was a very lethargic and listless fight from both fighters. They both looked tired during the first round. As usual, Tyson had no real strategy, which, in this case, he sorely needed in order to get inside on Lewis. Lewis, for his part, kept his gloves beneath his waist and moved like a water-logged sack of potatoes. As in the Michael Grant fight, he somehow felt like he needed to cheat in order to win despite the fact that he was in full control in both fights. Why he felt the need to push Tyson over for the final knockout (he do so earlier in the fight, as well) I will never know. Tyson was certainly ready to go down, anyway. I thought it was a poor showing from both fighters, but atleast Tyson didn't do anything foolish and lost (for once) like a man. Lewis' post fight comment about his having matured like a 'fine wine' is curious in light of the fact that he looked much better when he was younger.

I'm just glad to hear that Lewis won and kinda got Tyson to eat some humble pie instead of someone's ear!

Wow

I cannot believe tyson lost!!! Oh well. I guess lewis is really better. 😎

I agree with you on the point that Lewis moves as well as a demolished building falling into the street, but I disagree with the "pushing" thing. That referee should have his knackers ripped off by a doberman for disallowing that first knockdown! Lewis had him down and that "push" was simply him trying to swing another punch before Tyson kissed canvas. As for the final knockdown, Tyson was so limp and pathetic a slight breeze beyond the orbit of Pluto would have had him on his arse.

I've never been an especially big fan of Lennox Lewis, especially as his claim to be "British" seems to be slightly dodgy to start with. But I was over the moon to see him destroy that pathetic heap of human wreckage that I used to be a HUGE fan of. Tyson at his prime, I would have rated as the second greatest heavyweight of all time! But now I have more respect for a steaming pile of horse manure than I do for him. He is definatley more notorious than famous and after feeling the need to batter the shite out of a septugenarian in a Road Rage attack, he is even below sub-human in my opinion. Tyson NEEDED to have some justice meted out to him and having his face reduced to resembling a tomato that'd been run over by a truck, was a glorious sight!

By the way, don't talk to Mike Tyson about about Evander Holyfield, he's had an earful of him.

I agree, Jim, Tyson was in trouble when he was knocked down the first time and was certainly through come the knockout. I think the fact that Lewis pushed him before the knockout was simply indicative of Lewis' laziness. I mean, you would think he would've wanted to finish off the guy, no questions asked, with his fists when he had him in trouble. If you watch Lewis' knockout of Michael Grant, he was holding his head down (way down- near his waist) when he delivered the knockout punch. He could have easily been disqualified for that little maneuver, and Michael Grant was just about finished at the time, anyway.

Out of curiousity, Big Jim, are you familiar with the Genesis song 'Ballod of Big?' The character in the tune is named Big Jim Cooley 🙂 .

Tyson In His Prime..

Couldn't have beat Louis, Ali, Frazier, Marciano, Walcott. Ezzard Charlres, Foreman, Norton, Liston, Ernie Shavers, Ron Lee, Larry Holmes or a host of others. Bonecrusher Smith hammered him when Tyson was in his prime. Jose Ribalto should have beat him, and in fact I believe he did (except for a judges decision). He's always been small, and had a terrible jab. Any one of those guys would have exposaed him for the fraud he is. Everytime he boxed a guy with a good punch, OR a good jab. He lost . Holmes and Ali would have made him look silly. The rest of those guys were hard core and not scared of shit. Tyson was his best when guys were scared. Take away the fear and he looked average at best. Second best LOL. He came at the right time, during the weakest the heavyweight division has ever been. Let him fight Norton, Shavers, Frazier, Foreman, Lee all in the same year, like Ali did and see how great he is.

By the way, I predict Lewis will land more punches than Tyson will throw, and win by knockout in the 8th round. So far as Lewis looking lethargic, WHAT fight were you watching? He surgically destroyed Tyson, just like he said he would, a typical Lewis fight.

When you look at the list of greats that Tron mentioned I think it is safe to say not only that Tyson couldn't have beaten any of them, but that none of those greats would have been knocked out by the punch that Hashim Rahman hit Lewis with in their first fight.
Unfortunately, Tron failed to include Jack Dempsey, Gene Tunney, Jack Johnson, John L. Sullivan, Jim Jeffries, James Corbett, and Bob Fitzsimmons, all of whom would have wiped the floor with Tyson and Lewis. The heavyweight division is in a sad state.
Another correction on Tron's info, it was Ron Lyle, not Ron Lee. Good thing I'm here to keep you guys informed.
