I know this is the tickling forum, and not exactly in line 100%, but I am curious, who here reads adult novels?

Now, when I say adult novels, i'm talking about things like Eric Val or other writers you can find on Amazon and such. They are essentially books with a serious adult bend to them, having sex in graphic detail. Essentially, it's written porn, but there is a story to it. The most common tropes I've seen usually involve harems and tend to be series, instead of stand alone books. A lot of them seem to be isekai, or isekai adjacent (ie, a character learns about a supernatural world that exists alongside our own, ie Buffy the Vampire Slayer).

The point is, i'm just curious how many people here enjoy these types of books.

Never got an opportunity to read any of those.

But I do read a lot of extreme horror novels and I jokingly call them anti-porn. The sex scenes in these books are really detailed and graphic but usually they're used to disturb and disgust rather than arouse. A punk chick having sex with a decomposing zombie in Carlton Mellick III's "Zombies And Shit" is one of the more light-hearted examples. Wanna lose faith in humanity? Read "The Pig" by Edward Lee.

Idk if Diana Gabaldon counts, but I love her books. The sex scenes are fab, lol. Jamie can restrain me any time! 😉

I read a lot of romance novels. Generally the level of sexual content is lower in traditionally published books. I don't tend to read a ton of purely smut romance. I find the writing quality to be lower and it's cheaper to just read erotica on forums. Personally I love cheesy historical romance. All of the covers look super trashy but I have no idea whether I will be reading fade to black or something more graphic based on the cover.

My friend got me into them. They're mostly awful but they make me super confident in my own writing as a result.

That's why I love Guy N. Smith's pulp horror novels and especially his 9 book long epic about giant mutant crabs They're the "Plan 9 From Outer Space" of fiction - very bad but very, very entertaining.

And they do have sex scenes. They're exactly what you would expect:
Her fingers were active, though. Cliff felt that thrilling sensation of his zip being pulled down, her fingers groping inside the open vent and then the coolness of the night air on his warm moistness. He gasped with pleasure. Pat Benson certainly knew what she was doing!
‘Their lips met again, tongues probing and entwining. Both of them were experiencing the awakening of something that had lain dormant in them for so long. Rapidly they were getting out of control. Nothing else mattered… not even the giant crabs!
