Hi,
My Name Is Elvis, and I need your help on an idea I came up with. My idea is to somehow bring tickling, and tickle torture out from the closets, and out from underground to educate the general public. On what we as a sociaty do, and hopefully turn some heads on to the tickling fun side of our lifestyle.

So here is my question: How Many of you in the TMF would help support an effort to get a telvision show on television Hosted by our monarators. I'de Like to call it a REVOLUTION, So care to join, just send me a replie to this post when you read it. And let's step out of the darkness, and into the light as a sociaty of Brothers, and sisters in the TMF.

Thank you in advance for your support, and let's
Rock N'Roll, and Kick this Revolution into Gear.
Your Friend James E. Beksha(A.K.A. ELVISJESSIE)

Jim...

That's a really cool idea. But, since we're spread all over the country, I'm not sure what the logistics would be for something like that. Several people here have to be concerned with responses of loved ones. So, bringing everything out in the open, for them, could prove problematic.

My first thought when I read your post was a semi-comedic..."Okay, let's invite news crews to our gathering this summer." The problem is that, if we did, those the gathering is meant for would be less likely to show up. So, that wouldn't get us very far.

Yaqi is about to imbark on his mission to bring us into the mainstream. Hopefully, he'll get favorable responses and be a great success. THEN, maybe something more involved could come of things. Waiting....

Ann

ElvisJessie, while the idea in itself is great, I agree with the others about the problems of such an approach. Yaqi has already managed to get one foot in the right door, so the approach via talkshows is most promising.

I have managed to get 2 German TV stations into bringing a short report on tickling, mainly by keeping up writing to them about different angles of the topic. I guess I rather pestered them so much that they finally surrendered... 😀

That's another way to do it: Keep writing to TV stations about tickling. Make some useful suggestions how to build it into their regular program. Keep them interested. If a big enough variety of people continue requesting it, they will finally concede! Heck, even CNN brought a rather nice report on tickling in "Science Week"!

I say it is a GO and a damn good idea

I am in favor. If presented properly, it will help spread the word and show people the we have no ill intentions and we hurt nobody. Others doing the same thing in other locations is no reason not to do it here, in the US. The key is to present it properly and you will get eventual acceptance by the community. We can not shove it in people's face like other groups. Strategy is important. I say let's go for it.

Oh Well, At Least It was a good Idea

Hi,
I'de Love to thank the few that have posted Responces To my idea, Oh Well like my dearly departed Grandfather Once said a Day late, and a Dollar short. I guess you who have responded are right, it's funny I just love this forume, and all of it's members so much I kinda felt like trying to contribute something in the way of a grander scheme.
It's Just so hard for me in Massatuchetts to work for a livin with A.D.D. to make a livin is hard with my alway's dreaming of a perfect job where I'm not layed-off, or fired from. But Hey I'de love to work for someone in Massatuchetts that was in the tickling Community there then I'de know my mind would stay focused. But Hey Thank you Again for responding I do appreciate it. A big Group hug for all my tickling brothers, and sisters. And also remember Keep your heads held High along with your feathers, and may the tickling force always be with You God Bless The TMF

If everyone just opened up within their own little worlds and lives to each others bf's gf's wives husbands etc. it would NOT matter if the whole WORLD was into tickling. All we need is our corner of it.

I still don't know why there is such a rally for all this "mainstream exposure".

While lots of people enjoy tickling in their everyday lives as a simple thing, there just quite frankly isn't a monsterous number of people, relatively speaking, who think about it as frequently or as intensely as we on the forum do. Why should we try to change that?

An analogy I will use would be if somebody tried to start a fevolution that brought lima beans to the forefront of American consciousness. Sure, there are probably people who reeeeeeely love lima beans, but to try to get everyone eating lima beans all the time, everywhere, just seems unneccessary and unlikely. If someone wants lima beans, they know where they can get them.

To me, tickling is like lima beans, a few people love it, a lot of people are ok with it, but we all know where to find it..... right here on the TMF, and through the video companies.

Has it crossed anyone's mind that the more mainstream exposure we have, the more people are going to start sexualizing tickling who otherwise might not...... that would mean say goodbye to the playfull tickles you see from time to time. That would mean no tickling unless you were hitting on someone. To me, that seems like a definately bad possablility, because not everyone does think of tickling as sexual. And imagine if the TMF gets national mainstream exposure. I like the fact that when I post or chat here I am relatively guaranteed to be speaking to other people who share my interest to at least search for this topoc on the internet.... that would all change, and we would be diluted down with people who are just sightseers who happened to catch that episode of Jay Leno, and wanted to check out the freakshow. no more feelings of safety, no more feelings of security, no more feelings of community. More like disneyland. I don't like the idea of that.

IT just seems to me that tickling needs to stay where it is, in it's own little corner of the universe, surely growing as we have seen, but not exposed for scrutiny under a relatively conservative public eye. It just seems so unneccessary.

I know I am talking in worst case scenarios here, but everyone else seems to really like the idea of at least some sort of mainstream exposure, so I thought I would provide my point of opposition.

This place just seems so perfect right now, I would hate to see that change.

Just my $.02

ok, after chatting with yaqi for a bit this afternoon (who rightfully took me to task), I want to clarify my stance a little...

I think mainstream exposure as it was presented in this thread could be a bad idea, and could open us up for ridicule.

I think, however, that mainstream exposure that is aimed at encouraging everyone to be proud of who they are and what they love has possibilities of being a great thing, that could help people to feel better about themselves, and help them communicate their interests better to their partners, or whoever.

I think the difference is that while I hear some suggestions floating around that seemingly just want to turn our world into a tickling playground, there are others here who really just want to feel able to be free to be themselves without fear, guilt, or shame.

Any so called mainstream media exposure that attempts to do the former worries me, and that attempts to do the latter, I fully support.

Hope that makes more snese of it, for anyone who cares.

I kind of like things where they are. A little mainstream exposure is nice, but it's cool having something special that not everyone else has gotten their stereotyping hands on.

As far as a revolution goes...I think I'll sit this one out. The last revolution I got involved in, most of my Order got wiped out, there was a huge war, an entire species of small annoying furballs demanded recognition and a really expensive space station got blown up.😎

LOL

Out with revolution.......in with EVOLUTION.....lol......😀

but seriously folks...

I'd also like to add that while it would be easier for us to get some tickling action if it were more mainstream, I must agree with the others who feel that our little interest would not be as much fun if everyone as into it. Here are some examples of what happens when you take a really fun thing and make it mainstream....

Example 1: Anime (Japanese Animation)

There was a time when anime meant getting together with a group of friends on a weekend night, stacking up VCR's and feeling like we hit gold if we had a 7th generation copy of some fan-dubbed cartoon. It was special and fun since it was hard to get your hands on and it was fun to trade series with people who were into this underground interest. Nowadays everywhere you look you see friggin DragonBall Z or Salior Moon stuff. And the mainstream version of anime is so watered down. Japanese cartoon on FOX? Good lord what has happened!?

Example 2: Metallica

I have been a Metallica fan since the early days. (Back when it was still heavy metal). Now as a musician, I can respect them for growing older and their musical style reflecting that but there's just something disheartening about going to a concert, watching everyone sit calmy in bewilderment during tunes off of Master of Puppets and then all of a sudden a bunch of preppy short haired guys in argyle sweaters and penny loafers jump up and cheer when they hear "Enter Sandman". [shudder]

So my point is, part of what makes our interest special and fun is that it is ours and not the mainstream. I have never heard of anyone with a "drinking coffee at Starbucks" fetish...why?...because that is too freakin' commonplace!

Okay, Okay...so I started off this post with "but seriously folks" but I hope you all can see I was trying to be funny and light hearted in actuality. I see where you were going with your original thread start, Elvis. Always happy to hear everyone's opinion, my friend. 😉

I can respect both points of view here. However I don't think that mainstream exposure could harm us in any longterm way. For instance take S&M (tickling arguably can be a form of that), it's simply excepted or at least considered not all that shocking. You'll always have your tight asses who have nothing better to do then attempt to control your life and point the finger. However a positive thing that exposure can do is make more people willing to experiment with the idea of tickling as a form of sexuality. Of course the wrong people in the media can make anything appear monstrous, and the entertainment industry will always be out there making unique and special interests unbearably trendy.
It's great to have something so unique and special, and it's natural to be weary of the majority ruining it. I don't see tickling becoming a "trendy" interest anymore then I'd see swedish black metal getting played on K-ROQ consistantly. However, I firmly believe there is alot more of us out there then whom we find on this forum. More of those people might be alot more willing to come out of there fox holes with the right incentive. I seriousley doubt we'd ever be on Leno or Letterman, but I've never even seen a segment on tickling in the show "Real Sex". I for one would be stoked to see a 20/20 exclusive on it!!! One of the reasons we are overlooked and unknown has to do with the fact that we keep our mouths shut more then anybody.

WOW! Thank You For responding............

Hi,
It's Elvis again I just want to say thank you to my brothers/sisters of the TMF who have responded I greatly appreciate it very, very much.
Even though I'm happy about the possitive responces, those who are against this revolution so to speak I completly understand where your comming from to,and hummbly appoligize to those who I may have upset in my attempt to just voice my oppinion on Tickling. Again I had no intention of upseting anyone. In essence all I was trying to do was just take one small step for us, as a hidden underground sociaty, and hopefully guide us into the light. But I guess from all of your responces against it maybe I agree with you that the light maybe just to bright to venture out into right now. So I'll put away my symbolic banner for us once again in the closet, and maybe someday in the future expose it to the light for all the world to see. As strange, as this may sound I honest, and truly love this sociaty we belong to,and would never deliberitly try to hurt it, or anyone in it. May all of you brothers/sisters of the TMF live long, and sprosper keep you heads held up, along with your feathers, and may God Bless you.
And May the Tickling force be with you all. See ya😎

hey elvis

fear not, you haven't upset me, even though I disagreed with your revolution. this is a really great thread in my opinion with a lot of good points being made, and it all started from your words. that makes you a good contributer to the forum, in my opinion.

keep it up!

After reading 46and2's post I can now see how becoming more mainstream with tickling would not be such a bad idea after all. I never quite thought of it like that. And besides, I was mainly trying to be humorous in my post anyway. I'd love for tickling to be more accepted...I was just afraid it would get too watered down if everyone was doing it.

P.S. Love the name, 46and2. Question though, why didn't Tool just name the song 48? 😉
