We already have a league here Q. We call it the Galaxy Series...........it was invented a long time ago, in a galaxy far,far away........😛

My football team (by that i mean real football where you kick the ball with your feet) untill they moved to a new stadium a couple of years back, used to play at a place called "The Base Ball Ground" where base ball was played at one time, I miss the old place something wrotten, it was worth a goal start because of the atmosphere, you felt you could cut a piece of it out and take it home. Unfortunately you dont get that feeling in the new purpose built stadium, it has the atmosphere of a tramps vest.

The trouble with Base Ball for sports fans this side of the pond is that the nearest thing to it over here is "rounders" and its played exclusively by school girls, so its kind of hard to get past that joke image, that and the fact Ball players seem to be perpetually on strike!

There's times we all feel baseball has become a bit of a joke too...millionaires running around getting dirty, players being traded every 2 years, prices getting crazy....we may need a new pastime for our national sport. Terrorist hunting maybe? I dunno, just don't know.... Q

I love the thought of Bin Laden being persued through the English country side by the Quorn Hunt, the hounds baying, the hunting horn sounding, red coated "hooray Henries" applying the whip to their steeds as they romp accross fields and hedge rows!!!!

Hey Jim,The Toronto Blue Jays are a baseball team,and I believe won the World Series one year. I'm not sure if the Montreal Expos will be in existence next year,though.

I wonder how much of a problem intercontinental play would be,as far as scheduling and travel are concerned.We'll never know for sure about attendance until it starts,and that might be an expensive lesson.

Actually the Toronto Blue Jays won the World Series _two_ years in a row (1992 and 1993). Just ask Joe Carter. Or the unfortunate Mitch Williams.

It was called the World Series in 1903, when the 16 Major League teams were all in that part of the U.S. no further south than Washington, D.C., and no further west than St. Louis, Missouri. Since the fastest mode of travel then was by railroad, expansion to even western North America had to wait a half century.
