Or any Henry Miller...Or Anais Nin? Or has at least seen the film 'Henry and June'?

I have read parts of 'Tropic of Cancer, There are many colorful words in the text I do not know so I need a dictionary often and I have a semi -short attention span so It will be some time before I complete it, but hey, why not? Could be a litlle less rude and a tad more torrid but interesting just the same...

I read both "Tropic of Cancer" and "Tropic of Capricorn" when I was in the 8th grade, 40 years ago. They were hard to obtain in that era, and one tattered copy of each was passed around among the boys in my class over the course of the school year.

No big deal now. And Miller is not a great writer, IMHO. Just a good writer, who became famous for putting lots of explicit sex and four letter words in his books in a repressed era.

Didn't George Costanza read this book? When his coach gave him a wedgie?
"Can't-Stand-Ya!!"

Drew😕

I've read Anais Nin...she's colorful to say the least 😱

And while I was aware of the affair between Nin and Miller, it wasn't until recently that I heard of the movie based on it. Definitely on my "to rent list."

Yes.

Season 3, episode "The Library": Jerry is told that he borrowed "Tropic of Capricorn" from the library, and that it is 25 years overdue. He realizes that he lent it to George, who never returned it to him. In a flashback scene, George indeed gets a wedgie from the coach.

Anais Nin--Try reading her diaries. It's a trip into an interesting mind. I rereading the fisrt one.

Never watched the movie, but if it fits to her interpretations of them, it would be a good one I bet. Thanks for mentioning it, I'll be checking it out soon.

Jo:

Try some of Nin's fiction - I recommend the Delta of Venus or Little Birds. Both are more than entertaining...

Thanks Des!
You're right.

Truth be told, I've read everything she's written that's been published...I think. I went through a phase a couple of years ago.

It's embarrasing.

Thanks for the input, folks!!!

Sometimes I feel like the poorman's south florida existence is very similar to a Miller realm for me. Just making conversation...
