why are all theses threads getting closed all of a sudden?

We have to take action in different threads for different reasons. We are working to create a more peaceful site and for right now moderation of TT is a little more conspicuous than usual.

Some members have been suspended, and certain threads have been closed to put a stop to further fruitless arguments which have been disrupting the forum.

you know the hollywood brother loves this site. the hollywood brother is wondering however if one of the sections in here could be born to allow this hostility to air in a safe environment. the way the hollywood brother sees it is that the hollywood brother and his millions and millons of fans would have great hollywood brother style entertainment. heck, if need be there is a rumor that the hollywood brother could peek in to make sure it is not going to far and besdies if there is heat, more posters will tune in and join to make this place more exciting

I consider correct to close a thread when of a simple discussion goes to a situation more conflicting, judging and indicating conducts, a flaming situation rather than a simple discussion. A thread with those features don't solve nothing.

We do this at ocmb.org. While not 100% successful, it works well enough to keep the main forums mostly trouble-free.

The current rules technically prohibit ANY rudeness in the forums, so I would support a mostly uncensored "Flame Pit" or "Venting Forum" to serve as a safety valve for the community. The only other option is a stricter moderating style that I'd rather not have to use here.

It would at least be worth a try to put up a Venting Forum. The ATF put one up not too long ago, and I can say with certainty that it cut down arguments in the main forums by at least eighty percent, if not more.

Therin lies the problem. Plus, it can't be completely unmoderated, or some really nasty stuff could be said/threatned/etc. A section like that only really works if everybody agrees to be civil about it (Well, as civil as a venting forum gets). And, sad to say, I don't think that is going to happen.
